Fun course to score!!
Always a fun course to play at. The short par 5's are always a treat and the ending par 3's add some drama to your matches..
Hot deal for $12
Hot deal $12 for 18 with cart. That's the only way I would play LCC. The course is in rough shape. Greens are not good. Typical price is close to $50 which is not worth it. The staff is investing in the bar and restaurant not the course. They don't have a pro at the course..
Disappointed to say the least.
Tees, fairways horrible shape, greens ok at best.
Course isn't worth more than 30 with a cart.
Constructive criticism.
I posted a previous review on 6/29/17. Never saw a response. Two minor issues. The small red flags on the hole flags are mostly missing. Please replace them. The flags themselves are in terrible shape. Look like dish rags. Please get new ones. Finally, can we get the greens mowed earlier in the morning, BEFORE you start mowing the TEES!!
As they say, first impressions are important. If there is time to put up new fencing, there should be time to improve the look of the Greens, flags, and red flags.
Wouldn't go back
The course has a lot of potential, some interesting holes, but it is not well maintained. The rough is mostly tree roots and dirt. Drainage is terrible, lots of standing water. The practice green was flooded. Many of the greens were soggy. I plugged a couple balls in and around the green. A hackers course. For the money you can play many nicer courses, skip this one.
Horrible service........check your debit/credit card when booking through Golf Now......they will not honor the price when you get there and then they will tell you it's your problem. Crabgrass growing on greens, bunkers were GROSS and course on general is a 4 out of 5. I would not recommend to anyone. Acushnet River Valley or Poquoy Brook hands down for the same price. Will never go back. Just a bad experience.
Bad Bad Bad
Book on Golf Now for 30.00 walking. Charged 4.00 processing fee. Get to the course and charged 47.00. 51 dollars for a round that was 30.00 at 6am. Called to say I was over charged and was told pretty much, it's my problem. That being said, watch out twit this club when booking online. They advertise and charge a different price. Plus I would have never paid 47 walking for this couse. Crabgrass on greens, bunkers aren't edged.....horrible....spend your money at Acushnet River Valley
Fun day
Great round at Lakeville a very nice layout for the money. We arrived an hour early for our 1pm tee time and we were sent right out! So nice to jump out early with no wait. Greens were good tho a little slow. Courteous staff all around made for a nice day. Always love the finish with two Island green par 3s back to back. Nice mix of difficult par 4s and interesting short par 4s as well. Bring a few extra balls as water comes into play on several holes. GPS can be very helpful if you have access.
Course does NOT honor golfnow.com deals
I reserved my tee time here on golfnow for 27 per person plus a cart for 9 holes. When I arrived, the pro shop attempted to charge me 39 a person. After much deliberation they decided that for "this one time only' they would honor the golfnow.com price. It was not pleasant to haggle with the starter in the 'proshop' which is really just one end of the bar.
i have played many times in the past and always enjoyed the course but it ok, needs a bit more care everyone was very nice but it may be awhile before i go back.
Poor course conditions
I live 3 mikes away. Since change of ownership no up grades to condition of course. Lots of clover little grass. Hard pack ground. Tees very poor little grad replacement. Never saw a grounds person and the grass needed mowing and looks like it wasn't down for weeks. I don't think you should spend 15 minutes looking for a ball just outside the fairway.
Very bad. Never again. 2 players on Monday 100$
For the money Lakeville is a great course, still needs some work,BUT, the last five holes will make or break your score.. The staff is friendly and great smiles.
Constructive criticism.
Course conditions are improving weekly. Keep up the good work. Greens are excellent. However, it would help to replace some of the missing small red flags on the hole flags. Deep greens need these for better play.
Also, during the last to years the hole cups had white metal liners in them. How come you are not using them this year. Helps to preserve the condition of the cups.
My large group plays here weekly here an enjoy this course. Your clubhouse staff is very friendly.
Get out the mowers!
Fairways and rough NEED TO BE MOWED!!! It was difficult to locate the ball even in the middle of the fairway. I have been playing this course many times over the past three years and have never seen the grass this long!!
Greens however were in EXCELLENT Condition.
Challenging Course
I booked a foursome at LCC via Golf Now late the night before playing. After booking, I checked for recent reviews and was concerned to see that other reviewers said the greens were in bad shape and the fairways looked rough.
I was relieved to find this was not the case. While the greens were a bit on the slow side, the lines were true. Due to the wet weather, the fairways were a touch long in some wet spots. The rough was cut short (which was nice considering the overall difficulty of this course).
We played the blues thinking the 5800 yards from the whites was too short for us. We were wrong. The narrow fairways more than make up for the lack of total distance.
I'll likely be back for another round this year. This course will test your game and leave you frustrated at times. It was worth every stroke.
Retired
I arrived a little early and was told I could go right out.
I found the people on the practice green very friendly and I joined up the some to play as I was a single. The coarse was set up very nicely with some good water challenges. The greens need a lot of work as does the fairways and the tee boxes. Some of the fairways need to cut you couldn't tell the fairway from the rough. I know it is early in the season so that there is still time to make it good. I hope they will.
Beats Work.
Have played this course before and new what to expect -- TIGHT -- . Greens were very slow and bumpy. Pro-shop is pretty much non-existent. Forgot my peds and you think they had anything there to buy. -- forget it 18 holes with shoes and no socks. Better days are coming.
