What use to be, isn't anymore
This was one of the premier golf courses in the area back about ten years ago. The greens were excellent, quick, well manicured, as were the fairways. Not anymore. The greens are patchy, diseased, not cut or rolled properly, and very slow. the excessive play over the winter months have ruined these greens. The fair way are more like a pasture then a golf course. They need to spend some money on the course , superintendent, and maintainance . There are no ball washers on the course, a with only about 1 in 4 carts that have a ball washer on them. Some carts have containers for seed to fill in your divots,, but there are empty. There are too many better courses out there with good deals to play this one
One and done!
Course was not in very good condition, greens were terrible . . . . . grass was patchy at best. No starter, no ranger and play was agonizingly slow. Three hours to play the front with 3 or 4 groups on every hole. We averaged a 15-20 minute wait to tee off on just about every hole. It was obvious they didn't care about your experience once they got your money. I will never play there again!
Some potential here
Early spring golf is not the best time to judge a course, but I see a lot of work needed here. Best feature is the layout. Many interesting holes, undulating greens, 5 par 5's, and water in play on multiple holes.Greens were recently punched and sanded but they look like they will grow in to be decent.
Fairways bad- patchy and hard to see where rough meets fairway. All tee boxes beat up.Traps are terrible with no cut edges. I'm hoping the club will bring the track up to speed. I'd like to try the layout again.
Waited A Long Time
Lakeville Country Club had been on my To Play list for many years. It was worth the wait, 92.5 miles each way from Burlington, so I really wanted to play on a perfect Good Friday afternoon. Very interesting course. It has 5 par 5's and 5 par 3's. The front nine finishes 5-5-3-5-3. The back nine finishes 3-3-4 and what a finish that is !!! The two par threes are both island greens and the surrounding water guards the whole left side of the finishing hole!!! To rate the course now is unfair. I played on the 14th of April after a very tough March. The greens were aerated and sanded. The grass really hasn't begun to grow yet. I gave an overall rating of 5 knowing those large greens will be beautiful in a few weeks and the fairways will be just fine after they need to be cut a few times. Fun, interesting, challenging, go play Lakeville.
I've played course frequently and enjoy it but
When we got there we were informed that the front side was closed for maintenance and had to play the back side twice. I think golf now should be notified to be able to pass along when this happens.
Great customer service
Great course love the island par 3 long course pace of play an issue
Sean
Great Course links style enjoyed it very much I believe the owner checked us in
He was very nice and personable would recommend a course to anyone
Total value
Totally recommend this course to any level of player.
Not a Favorite
Course is very tight. Holes are close together and it seemed like we were dodging golf balls all day. Condition of the tee boxes, fairways and greens were subpar.
Nice little place
I really like this place. The holes are nothing wild, but I like the approach shots and the greens. It's just a nice place to hit different clubs off the tee and work on different things. Tee boxes are not in good shape, but that's my only complaint. Def worth a hot deal.
Thanks a lot! We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear that you enjoyed your round. Please come back and play again soon!
Autumn golf at Lakeville
Very enjoyable round. Course was very busy so pace of play a little slower than usual but still a very pleasant day on the course.
Thanks for your review! Happy that you had a great round! Please come back and see us soon!
Great shape and great value
Never played this course before was glad L booked this on last minute golfer. I was surprised of the course condition because of the drought conditions we are having it was in great shape .the pace of play was very good and the variety of different holes made this course a joy to play.
Thanks for your fantastic 4-star review! We're glad that you enjoyed our course conditions and that you were able to play pretty quickly too! Thanks for playing and we hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic
We have played here quite a few times and can't express how much we truely enjoy it. Great layout and conditions...most importantly the staff is all so very friendly..
nicolette4898529 - Thank you so much for the 5 star ratinng! We hope we will see you back again soon!
DO NOT go on weekends
I play LCC once a week. Great deals on GolfNow if you go during the week. Don't bother going on the weekend. They make tee times 4 MINUTES APART, you will be waiting on every hole.
It took 3 hours to play 9 holes with cart for 2 people. Stick to Monday-Friday for a fun round.
Thank you for your review. The only area of our tee sheet with a 4 minute interval is between 1:56pm and 2:00pm. All other intervals are 8 minutes apart. We will work with our rangers to address pace of play going forward, especially on busier weekends. Thank you again.
No water!
Course wasn't bad, and a good value. Problem is, there was no water out on the course, with empty water cooler jugs and some locations missing the coolers altogether. 94º and humid! You need to have some common sense out there. There were a lot of people really suffering out on the course. Cold water would have done a lot to relieve some of the misery. This is common sense. We're not talking thousands of dollars here. Refill the bloody water coolers, and make sure each location has one! They just didn't care!
Thank you for your review Richard. We apologize that our water coolers were empty. We have an individual that will make rounds to refill any empty coolers, especially on hot days when the water always runs low. This will be addressed with our staff.
Great day and great value. We will be back.
This was the first time all four of us played the course and enjoyed it, there are a number of challenges. Many of the fairways are rather narrow and one must keep it fairly close to the middle. Greens were in very good shape, but slow.
We all agreed we would be back. Only problem was that we had a problem (not really a big deal) finding the next tee. It would be great if there were some better markings for the next tee at SOME of the greens. All in all it was a good day and we will be back to play.
Thank you for your kind review! We will take your feedback regarding better markings for the next tee into consideration. Otherwise, we are happy to hear you had a great day and we look forward to having you back!
the greens were great
fun course to play. Some short holes some long.Water on about 7 holes. We teed off a 7am and were done at 10 am
Thank you for your 5 star review, Rick! We are glad you enjoyed our course.
