Lovely day, as expected. That's why I drive 2 hours for a special round.

Course in good shape as always. Setup a bit easier than usual due to lots of rain 36 hours prior but still a good test. Tees and fairways excellent, greens true but not as fast as usual.

Sent out early by myself on a quiet day. Played through a few groups.

Thanks to a maintenance worker who suggested to a 2some (2 holes behind a 4some) that allowing me to play through was an option. You don't need to practice aimpoint on your putt for a 9.

Great all-around course with very friendly staff. Excellent practice area with balls provided the food in the restaurant is outstanding and a good value.

I took my son up for a round Saturday to celebrate his graduation from Umass. We've played up there before and it has always been wonderful.

A couple of things let us down, leading to a very disappointing 9 hole experience last weekend.

1. No starter when we teed off- which allowed a foursome to take our spot, who were on their second 18 of the day.

2. Their pace of play was extremely frustrating, constantly falling at least a half hole or more from the group in front- also no visible Marshall on course to take control.

3. Group hitting into us from behind, multiple times. I can assure you that my son and I were right on top of the group ahead of us, but respectfully allowing them time to clear greens before we hit, despite their place of play.

4. Group that hit into us talked with us on 8 tees saying they were playing with the owner, not sure if that was true, but no apology for hitting into us, just a comment on the group ahead being bad golfers, and that they were good golfers.

We simply walked off after 9, that took over 2.5 hours, really giving myself, and more importantly my son, a dissatisfied graduation experience.

Not sure if we will return despite our previous experiences and your beautiful course.

I love this course. It’s a beautiful course with amazing staff. Well kept, perfect interesting holes, and great amenities. Play this course. But don’t be annoying and ruin a great place. Fix your divots and keep the pace of play. Amazing to be able to golf here so be a good guest.
