Bay Pointe Country Club
About
Bay Pointe Country Club was known as Wareham Country Club when it first opened in 1964 up until 1988 when it underwent a major renovation, including the construction of the island green seventh hole, which is the golf course's signature. The club underwent yet another multi-million dollar renovation in 2012 when the club changed ownership. In the most recent renovation, hundreds of extraneous trees were cleared from the fairways in order to get it back into pristine condition. Although it's a seemingly short layout at just over 6,200 yards from the back tees, it actually plays much longer. The first two holes are laid across the hilliest portion of the terrain. Though you have a challenging start, the rest of the Bay Pointe golf course eases into a gentler landscape.

Great shape
I am very happy with the condition of the course overall. Just wanted to know if and/or when you will be installing a driving range. Several of my friends have asked the same question because it helps to get loose before a round.. Thank you.
Description Discrepancies
First or all they are operating the checkin out of a trailer. In their description they say they have a range and putting facilities. They have neither. Food options are available away from checkin at the turn from 9 to 10. Not sure if they are open after 3:30. At least sign on cart seems to indicate that that is the case. Also, they must have redesigned several of the holes on the back 9 and have not adjusted the GPS because our watch devices were giving us incorrect distances on several holes. There is a lot of construction gong on and a lot of dust from it. Right now it appears that they are more concerned with building condos than caring for the course as numerous areas were burnt up or without grass. If more effort went into the course especially around the tee boxes and the areas in front of the tee boxes it would substantially upgrade the courses appearance. Didn't think it warranted the $85 we each spent. Plenty of other courses in the area for around the same money and much better conditions.
GPS
Course has been under reconstruction for some years now and is starting to come into form. The issue I have had at this course since it's rerouting is the gps has not been upgraded to reflect the rerouting.
Improved conditions from last year
Last minute reservation, there has been improvements to the course from last year. There were a bunch of piles of brush of the sides in scattered places so with a bit more clean up the course will be much better.
Great course
Love this place , everyone was nice and course was beautiful
No Bueno
tee boxes, fairways are awful. Greens are average but not great like other reviews. Comparable to LCC which is also an awful course.
Bay Pointe
New condos are being built in and around the course which has the course a very disheveled! The first four holes were an absolute abomination! Not worth the green / cart fees! One positive note, the greens are very good! Looks and feels like there is only grounds maintenance for the greens!
Maybe upon completion of the condos and the new club house the course will be better maintained!
Until then, I won’t be back!
Bay Point Trek
I have Played this Course a Few Times. The Greens are in Excellent shape and are some of the Best in the Area. The Rest of the Course needs serious work. Fairways are sparse; and rough is terrible. Its a shame, because course design is excellent, and with proper course management could become one of the best in the Area. Clubhouse is non existent, you check in at a trailer while an unfinished Clubhouse stands idle for 2 Years. WHY?
BayPoint Golf
This Course has an excellent and Fun Layout. The Greens are GREAT and probably some of the Best in the Area. Tee to Green needs a Lot of Work. Management need to spend some time and money making the Fairways as nice as the Greens. Fairway Grass is sparse Sand Traps need some sand. Overall with some Management attention this could be a Premiere South Shore Golf Course.
Avoid
Crap tee boxes, they’re weedy and burnt same as the fair ways. Rough has grass like a town park. You wont hit a single ball onto the fairway and have a good lie. Don’t let the online pictures fool you. The course is in a rough municipal condition at best. Putting greens were the only thing that were decent making the day not miserable. 18 birdies and the scorecard don't even match; the hole arrangement is incorrect, which is a major pain. Hole 7 is worth giving this place a one time try just to see if u can put it in from 90 yards. Never playing again for that price. The place has major potential but obviously doesn’t not get the effort in maintenance to make golfers want to return.
The course needs attention!
I found Bay Pointe to be an enigma. Poor tee box, cart paths and fairway conditions, but the greens well cared for and in great condition. The fairways were dried out with bare areas, not well cared for. Some tee boxes were rock hard, difficult sticking a tee in the ground.
The course layout is awkward and sometimes confusing. Especially the back 9.
There's a lot of construction going on in the area and around the course. Hopefully, the course conditions will be addressed when construction is completed. It could be a fun course when properly cared for.
