Favorite course at great value
Challenging but not overly difficult course. Very nice staff, well maintained courses particularly for end of season.
I love playing here. Fall golf in the morning here is phenomenal. Only downside is there are oak tree leaves the size of dinner plates in the rough areas. But it’s New England and fall golf. Expect to lose a ball or two that would have otherwise been in play.
Love it here

New England Treasure
This golf course should be in a magazine for “Must Play” in the Autumn season. It is picturesque & was just stunning landscapes the day we played. The course was cleared for play with leaves blown & verdant green. It was like summer temps and Fall foliage. Heaven!

Wow! We are so happy you enjoyed your round, u863150048! We look forward to seeing you again soon at Butternut Farm Golf Club.
Monde’s experience
Generally speaking, course is good and challenging. However, the course play conditions were not up to my expectations. Too much leaves on course and as badly as it was, all over the Greens.
Everything else is fair!

Delightful but Challenging
I'd heard a fair bit of the challenge of this course before arriving, so I knew this to be one of the hardest golf courses in Massachusetts.
There are many exciting holes, but the challenge is real. I say, "Fair Challenge" since this course is always right in front of you. no bad surprises.
There's lots of real water in play, a mix of distances, and a host of options off the tee.
Specifically, the 8th hole, a driveable par 4, should be a destination hole for any true new england golfer! Make sure you chose the back tees on this one and hit over water!
The staff working the course deserve kudos as they've managed the course brilliantly and cut down bushes and trees in normal "through areas" so you can usually find poorly hit tee shots.

Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Butternut Farm Golf Club.

A strange layout
What can one say when your favorite hole is 280 yard par 4 over water with with a hard dog leg.

Narrow and Slow
This place is pure bowling alley golf. Incredibly narrow and tree lined on every hole. Constant lost balls and players in the wrong fairway in every group leads to a maddening pace of play. Walked off after 4:20 after completing the 14th hole. Conditions were decent despite being wet, greens were soft and slow but well maintained. The 10th hole is one of the dumbest designs in the state. 600 yards for no reason with a blind approach guarded by water.

Didn’t live up to reviews
Had a 65 5 AM teatime. Showed up a little earlier hoping to get some padding in but the sprinklers on the putting green and most of the parking lot in first tee we’re on up until tee time. From the tips the course is like hitting down a narrow hallway. No one apparently fixes their ball marks or replaces their debits. I could’ve laid an 8’ x 10’ carpet with the amount of debits laying on the Fairways. On some of the holes it didn’t look like they have moved the tea boxes in two weeks or more. The course does not get any sun because of the thick wooded area so everything was wet and thick. The claim to fame longest part five without a bunker is cool to play but the fairway ends 170 yards from the green which is silly because there’s 100 yards of rough when they could’ve just continued the fairway. Silly lay out in my opinion. I constantly felt like I was being bombarded with balls from other fairways. Would not play this track again.
