Solid Course! Would Recommend
Would return even in with the cold conditions. Found like 10-20 balls. Course was super fun. The Slope compensated for the distance. Was very happy with the results.
Course was in pretty good shape. Interesting layout. Nice views, including some of the Pru and Hancock tower in Boston. Was definitely a bit of helmet golf. Probably heard "fore" on at least half the holes. Staff was really friendly and helpful!
For a Municipal course it was in great shape, play was slow, narrow
Great Afternoon for Golf!
Playing Newton Commonwealth was a very enjoyable experience. While it plays at ~5300 yards from the tips and that is a short course by definition, it is not a walk in the park. It requires accurate tee shots and approach shots into tight greens. While the tee boxes were in a little rough shape, from being heavily played over the past few weeks, the greens were in fantastic shape for a public course, rolling really true with no dead spots. My only real complaint was that we were almost hit with errant tee shots about 15 times during the day, as the holes were on top of each other in some places. If you play here (and you should because its a great course) you will hear fore more times during your round than you ever have before.
