Leo J. Martin Memorial Golf Course

Seriously the worst course I’ve played at. I would be shocked if you could build a course that is in worst shape if you tried. One of the holes just had the flag and hole at the top of a slope with no green. Seriously 0 effort on any of the grounds to keep up with the place. I get that it is a cheap round but it was unenjoyable. Greens had literal sand traps on them. Impossible to putt or chip. No fairways either as the grass is similar to that of a backyard. If my buddy made this in the yard, I would still say how terrible it came out. The people who work there are great and were super nice so this is a tough review to write out, but it would be irresponsible to not warn people looking to get out of the city to golf cheap that this place isn’t worth it even if they paid you to play there.

Good to practice golf for beginners. Not good for serious golfers.

Go anywhere but here. No green is free of patches with SAND in them. This is a poor maintained course. Over years it’s gotten worse. If you cross country ski in winter this is your place—not golf.

The staff was very nice and the bathroom was very clean!

The Course conditions are so bad, it's indescribable, it's so bad, it's like a wilderness.

Unacceptable to get screamed at to "GO!" by the starter when we just arrived to the first tee and were introducing ourselves to the twosome we got paired with. We teed off 10 and 20 minutes early for our respective tee times. Yet she wanted us on the course so badly, she had to scream from the clubhouse at us. Absolutely miserable customer service and no way to start a round.

Good for a beginner. The greens are in absolutely terrible shape. I've seen people use their sand wedges to try to chip the balls in to the cup from the sandy areas on the greens. That's the type of condition you can expect the greens to be in. Two of the greens are just pins at the end of fairways, and have been all year. The staff is friendly. The conditions aren't their fault. It's the state that should be ashamed.

The condition of this historic Donald Ross course is nothing short of malfeasance. They just invested in new carts, but the fairways, greens and tee boxes are practically non-existent. If negative stars were allowed this course would rate a negative 3. I’m not exaggerating. The Commonwealth should be ashamed to offer this course as an alternative for citizens. Clearly, the DCR only cars about the money from the driving range and winter ski track. Truly embarrassing.

For the price your better off taking a drive somewhere else, this place isn't worth it at all. Greens are trashed and the fairways arn't cut. Overall unless ur sneaking on this course isn't worth a dime.

I’ve been here a couple of times before and was expecting the the greens to be the usual terrible, but I was surprised at how bad the rest of the course was! There was very little green anywhere on the course. The fairways were pretty much just dirt, l tee boxes were awful, and the greens were usual junk. I guess you get what you pay for!

Worst course I’ve ever played. Not even a question. Don’t waste your time or money.

This is not a golf course anymore. It’s a dirt ground. Years ago, the greens were good despite the fairways being half dirt and half grass. Now even pretty much all greens are dirt and sand. It’s so bad that they have mowed a part of the fairway and put the flag there. Golf now needs to remove this course from their list. I paid $35 for a full round with cart and feel cheated on. They should pay you to play at this place. It’s not a golf course, it’s a dirty field.

The condition of the greens is just inexcusable, patches of dirt on every one. At least two holes were fairway greens with old greens roped off but with no sign of repair being done.

Thought it was a cheap round but with the condition of the course it’s not worth $5.

Play elsewhere.

Great weather, good course conditions, and ended with some great shots. My approach shot into the 18th landed just short of the green on the left. The ball was on a course for the bunker. But when I got to the green, I couldn't find the ball in the bunker or near where I saw it roll. After a minute searching, I looked at the green and my ball had run off the bunker edge and landed about eight feet left of the hole. My best shot into the green this season, so far.
