A jewel of a course
I’d like to thank Ward for helping our foursomes enjoy a perfect day. We were staying at the Southbridge Conference Center and I encourage their guests to consider Hemlock. Course conditions superb. No wet patches. Greens groomed. Those side hills were wicked!.
Can’t beat the value!
It’s easy to complain about the sodden fairways, but blame nature. Norwood is convenient. Great value. Surprised that pace of play was excellent. Recurring complaint- awful trash in the streams, brush, parking lots. Please get your staff to work on this.
Worst customer service ever
The guy in pro shop was extremely rude when we called on the phone and when we got there to check in. I don't need to pay money to be treated like that.
Overpriced
Course is in terrible shape for them to be charging that much
Cow Pastore Course
The conditions were very rough because of all the rain which is not their fault but it also means the course doesn’t drain well at all
Very pricey for a cow Pastore
Smelly, loud, and backed up
Let’s begin with the smell. The front 9 smelled as though I had been transported to Shrek’s swamp after his deceased body has been left to rot for several weeks. It was putrid.
As if the smell wasn't enough, the delightful ambiance of roaring airplane engines from the nearby airport filled the air. Additionally, the balls flying over from the driving range added another element of excitement. I couldn't help but feel like I was in the middle of a warzone, reliving ancestral memories of dodging bullets in the jungles of Nam.
All in all, there is absolutely no reason to ever play here. I suggest the tear up the whole place and build a parking lot or a chemical waste facility. Either would be a better and more productive use of the space.
Not a bad time
Course was in pretty good shape, and most importantly after their drainage has been fixed, dry. Greens good, and rough fair. It's short, flat, and straight, but NCC does a good job keeping the round interesting
Don’t waste your time
Worst course i’ve played in a long time - stay away. Huge holes for sprinklers in the middle of the green, swampy fairways, uncut rough, and absolutely horrible pace of play. Don’t believe the high rating on here boosted by the regulars…
Swampy Mess, delayed start
Arrived at 7:45 for an 8:30 round. Clubhouse/Bartender (same guy swamped with two jobs on a Holiday) complained I was early. Told him I had hoped to hit a bucket before playing, but the range was closed so no option to do so. (About 20 golfers in parking lot looking to use the range, so I don't think it is usually closed at this time).
Load up and line up at starting tee 20 minutes ahead to tee time, 3 groups waiting, and one on the tee box waiting for hole to clear. Finally tee off 30 minutes late, pace of play was fine, finished right on time with the card, so just late getting people out.
Course is adjacent to a busy municipal airport, so every 5-10 minutes a low flying plane takes off, can mess up your concentration.
Could be a great course, but I've been occasionally (1 time a season or so) playing here for over 10 years and they have done nothing about the swampy conditions. Doesn't seem the be a priority at all. The only thing that they have done to keep up with other courses in the area is raise there green fees.
There are at least 10 better public courses within 30 minutes that are either the same price, or within 10 dollars. All of them are better options.
