Decent day
Honestly your average public golf course. Greens decent. Had been recently punched. Very bumpy. Sparse in some areas. Fairways plush but very bumpy. Not flat. Carts were pretty nice. Had a cart girl , practice greens. Starter was unaware what tee time I was despite asking me multiple times. I realized my obvious pairing was on the tee box already so I had to ask if I was joining them or not. Bar tender wasn’t overly friendly when asked to fill water bottle. Overall. Not a bad course for 40ish dollars. Bit of a shooting range though. Lots of “FOREEE”. Would go back all things considered.
mow the grass
The Norwood people who run Norwood CC should be ashamed of themselves. Grass not mowed!! Aerated greens in JUNE!! No sand spread on the greens to fill the holes. Water drains in the MIDDLE of the greens?? This course is in a populated area, gets tons of play and the owners treat it HORRIBLY!! Golf course management is fairly easy. PLANT GRASS, FERTILIZE IT, WATER IT, MOW IT. Come one guys get your act together.
Course improving
Norwood has put a lot of work into improving this course and it’s in much better condition than past years
Not great shape. Horrendous pace of play
The course was not in great shape. The obvious was the un manicured grass and dirt patches everywhere. Part of me almost gives them a pass on that but what I can’t get over is (1) the first hole is directly next to the driving range which has a net diving the two, that’s supposed to stop balls from hitting the fairway of the first hole …but it doesn’t. Literally 60 years from the green the fairway is littered with dozens of driving range balls. That’s just unacceptable of you ask me. (2) the pace of play was horrendous. Worst I’ve ever seen. I left after the 11th hole bc there were 3 carts sitting in front of me waiting to tee off.
With just a little more care this place would be fine.
Do not play here
I had reservations about coming back here after last year but a friend talked me into it. Very cheap but you get what you pay for.
5.5 hr round. They send people off in 10 min increments. Multiple holes had four 4somes waiting.
The course condition is dismal. Very wet. Little grass. Sand is dirt. Not good. Greens were solid although some of the pin placements were insane (on a downward sloping steep hill off green).
Would not go back even if for free. Too many other good bc courses around to play.
