Fun course. Must play!
Layout is good. Played east/south. Challenging holes. Not terribly long. Fast greens. Course is great condition. Play here. You will enjoy it!
Early in the year, the course was in okay shape. Average course overall, nothing special but nice enough for almost any event. The only issue I had today was when I checked in the front desk told me to go from East to South course. Normally I think nothing of this and go where they tell us, I don’t want to mess up a league or anything. But when we pulled up to the East, there were three groups on the first hole while the South had nobody in sight. I made an executive decision to play the South course first, thinking worst case scenario there’s a league that shows up and we play the South course again. No such thing happened, we got done with the South course and started on the East. Never ran into another group. If we had followed the front desks guidance the round would have taken us well over 4 hours with 2 golfers. Our way took us just under 3. I suppose I expect the people running courses to have this stuff mapped out better.
Nice people!
The employees in the club house were great. Overall, 9.75/10 experience. What a day!
2021 first time golfing this season
A little snow on the course in shady spots. Perfectly sunny day in the upper 50’s. So glad to be golfing! The staff were happy and friendly. The greens a little bumpy due to the aerating from last fall. All in all a fun afternoon!
Light rain
It’s an Okay course but conditions were a little on the wet side. Not the courses fault but wasn’t laid out where I would want to come back and give them another try. Just an average course in my opinion. Not great but not bad either.
Great day
Wife and I played here first time. Course was very interesting.....nice combo of hills, wooos, water.
Greens not fast but generally smooth and rolled true.
Will likely return again!
Fellows Creek East 9 to South 9
We had not golfed here in several years. Conditions were fine, with the exception of SEVERAL OVERGROWN TREES that unnecessarily blocked or altered tee shots from the back tees.
Greens were in great condition. Staff--the starter Scott-- met us in parking lot and was very clear about getting us loaded and ready to golf. He was the only person we saw, or needed to see.
Again, please prune overgrown trees near tee boxes or with trees that have branches extending 40 feet into the fairway/driving lanes.
How does this place get such high ratings?!!
It was my first time here and this is my first review. I decided to play this course after seeing how highly it was rated on this website (and now I really question all the ratings) and because of that I signed up to alert anyone else that might be thinking of playing here. If this is the only course you can play, then I would understand why you would play here. For us, it was the only one we could get on at the last minute.
Looking out across the street at the course from the clubhouse, it looks like it is going to be a very nice course. The 2 holes I can see have nice undulations and rolling fairways. However, looks can be deceiving. We played the East/West. If you like courses where every hole is jammed next to the other then this is the course for you. The tee boxes are too close to the greens, the holes are too close to each other and the condos are much too close to the course as well. On some tee boxes they are no more than 10 feet away. You can hear traffic for much of the round as well. It was flat. Maybe I was looking at the South course when I saw the undulations.
It was VERY slow. On one par 3, there were 3 groups on the tee. I've been playing for 30 years and have worked at courses when I was younger and have never seen that before. I can't imagine that was normal, but it was certainly noteworthy. I expected it to be busy in this day and age, but I never expected that. Our round took 4.75 hours and we had to wait on every shot. Perhaps this is unusual here, but we won't be back again to find out. Come to think of it, with the Covid-19 policies and having to space tee times out further than usual, I have to wonder why it was so crowded? Maybe they aren't following the guidelines. Our cart was dusty and didn't look to be cleaned.
The price is a little high at $45. I think $35-$37 would be more appropriate. The fairways were hard as were the greens. The practice green is a small area with 4 holes and about 8-10 feet from the road.
The staff was friendly.
