West at Warren Valley Golf Course

About
Warren Valley Golf Club in Dearborn boasts two 18-hole courses designed by Scottish architect Donald Ross. The courses are some of Ross' first designs in Michigan. The par-71 West and par-72 East Courses both have traditional layouts that sprawl across rolling hills before settling along the banks of the Rouge River. There are several scenic holes on both courses that play alongside and across the river. The West Course has tree-lined fairways but they are generous and the greens are open and inviting. Tricky doglegs are shaped by the trees or the river. The river comes into play more on this course than the East, on seven holes to be exact. The bunkering is minimal but there is a surprising variety of elevation changes that will keep you on your toes.

good value for your money
Had some rain so part of the day was wet, still the fairways had bounce to them and the greens were fast. Ample time to play with chance to take in the scenery
course was very wet from rain so greens were slow can not fault course
i gave it a 2 because it was slow pace the value for the money was good needs upkeep there were alot of large holes in fairways
bumpy would be an understatement.
great value
Donald Ross courses for 25 bucks? Can't beat it. Good overall course conditioning and nice greens.
Some good
Played the west course. Greens were in fantastic shape, fairways on the other hand not so good. Have to say they at least they water as the sprinklers were running on 12 of the 18, the other 6 were wet.
Guy at the counter was grumpy, but the starter was really great. I was alone and told me a slow foursome was in front of me by 45 minutes...told me to take my time and emphasized to play multiple shots. "Great day for practice round".
This course is built within the terrain. Lots of mature trees with some water and protected lands to play around.
The course will be a pleasure to play, but you must respect the challenges or it can beat you down. There is a number of elevated tee shots that require above average landing ability in order to make a decent score.
The staff has a way of making you feel strange because of the prepaid better price that you paid to play. If that is not what is going on, then they need to be a little friendlier in there greetings.
I will play the course again and hope to see or experience a better greeting.
You may not get the course you book.
The facility has two courses, East and West. They are very similar, though I prefer West. You may find that though you book West on Golfnow they'll tell you to play East when you get there. Annoying. otherwise, a good course to walk.
this course is good for all skill levels
Played the west course and it was quite enjoyable. The elevation changes and doglegs made it challenging. A very nice course for the online price paid. Some areas were quite wet, two days after a lot of rain. So there were some problems with shots plugging. All in all, a very nice place to play.
good course for the price
the black and blue burger after the round was great!! / hats off to the cook.
Not Perfect...Still Fun.
Before it was a golf course it was a flood plain, thus, it is still a flood plain. There are, inevitably, some spots on the course where the fairway is not actually fairway due to puddles when there's been rain, dry, flaky earth when there hasn't.
That aside, this course is a fun play...it's short, because there's 36 holes crammed in a tight area, but forces you to hit enough different kinds of shots. It's busy, because it's a great value, but it plays a good pace because it's not too difficult. Even a hack like me can easily shoot around 90 here.
nice conditions
Great course for the money........drink carts always around.....
Nice course over all.
I enjoyed the course, but I would have loved to have had more par fives on the course.
Great course for the price.
Awesome course for a beginner like me with wide fairways and wide greens. This course have some sort of difficulty too but for the most part it's great to be playing here and can't wait to be back soon.
nice manicure course, there was holes where you couldn't see the flag
very nice course have some challenging holes. The day I went it was wet but playable. have some challenging holes and some moderate. it was extremely hot not enough water on the course. and there was no cart girls.
this course needs a lot of maintenance
Do do attempt to golf here unless there has been no rain for at least one week to 10 days.
Great course, except after substantial rain
Warren Valley is one of my favorite courses. It is always excellently maintained and challenging without being overly difficult.
For reasons out of the staff's control, there is always significant amount of standing water after a few days of substantial rain.
On a better day maybe a better play.
Play the west course didn't care for it. Maybe it may have been better if it drain water better. Greens were ok.
Great price...good golf...
Always enjoy playing this course and definitely will return if the price is right.
36 holes mostly open
they had 36 holes very affordable river in play didn't have to wait on very many holes
average
the fairways needed to be mowed, they said mowers were down and theym were getting fixed
