West at Warren Valley Golf Course

I only began playing here about three years ago but now make sure I drive from Royal Oak at least once a week to play either the East or West course. I love Donald Ross designs and these courses do not disappoint. Staff is incredibly accommodating and make sure I can get in a round quickly even when I'm by myself. Using GolfNow.com I find incredible Hot Deals each week at Warren Valley. Love these courses!

Went out for twilight around 5:30 to play West course. Course is not in good condition, lots of crabgrass on fairway, if people fixed their ball marks the greens would be in decent shape. Cart paths have multiple giant tree roots to drive over throughout the course and the fairways can be quite the adventure as well with the small, dried up choppy mounds some holes have. The signs at the tees need updating as well cause the description will show it's a straight hole and when you play em they tend to slightly dogleg left or right. My biggest complaint would be groups just playing randomly bouncing out of order playing the course. Even had one group admitting to doing that because that's what they do during twilight were his exact words. So a couple times had to wait for some clowns to tee up and then hit their approach shots. It seemed that's what a lot of groups were doing though! I've never really experienced that at other courses during twilight. Not sure if there's a ranger riding around but tonight could of benefited having one. Clubhouse staff wasn't the friendliest either. A hello or directing us where and when we're supposed to tee off would of been nice instead of us having to initiate it. One positive is a few of the holes have nice layouts, in particular 10-13. Also $17 for the 17 holes we played is great value. That'd be the only reason I'd go back or recommend to a friend. All in all I was left disappointed and I think Donald Ross wouldn't appreciate how the course has been kept up. Weathers no excuse. This was the worst course of 7-8 courses I've played this summer. Only positive about it is it was still green for the most part

I have been going to this place for a number of years. I played there last week and the course looked like it was in a lot better shape compared to a few years ago.

I played the east course and had the best round I ever played. The course was great shape and the greens were just right for putting.

We went on Fathers day, expecting to be backed up all morning long. We had a 7:20 tee time and were right on time. The started was extremely friendly and offered up a few tips. The course looks wide open but had challenges strategically placed. Pace of play was good. Only had to wait on a few par 3's. Had the norm food at the turn, as well as turkey sandwiches. Booked on Golf Now and our green fees were under 30$ on fathers day, which was a huge plus. The only recommendation would be putting up a sign directing to the 10th tee box. We just went to the started and he pointed us in the right direction. When coming off 9th green, take the cart path to the 4 way, and turn left.. go down the hill and you will be at the 10th tee. We had a great time and plan on playing the east soon!

The guys golfed and it was wonderful they all said!

First time I have played here and it was a very nice course. All around it was a good time. The tee boxes and greens were in perfect condition. Holes were a little bit close to each other so errand shots could hit other players very easily. Other than that it was perfect. Pace of play was as fast as we could go and the starters were very nice. Hopefully I'll be back even though it was a 35 minute drive.

The course was in good shape, especially the greens. The only thing I would improve is the bumpiness of some of the fairways. It can get a little hard on the back driving the carts over unexpected bumps in the middle of the fairway. The cart paths need to be replaced in many areas too.

Really cool course. Great price.

It was a Great first time out for the year. The course and pace was wonderful, Could not have had a better start of the year.

Only bad part of course was that the greens had been airated.

I love playing both the East and West courses. Equally challenging and an excellent value for the money!

Great course great design Love Donald Ross courses

Course could have been better but for the price can't beat it.

Not a bad track for $30. Played on a Sunday morning and overall pace was decent. Good place to take higher handicappers as greens were slow and course is somewhat forgiving.

It's a typical Donald Ross design. Short but challenging. It's what you would expect from a public course. Condition is good, not much to complain about. I do recommend the East course over the West course.

Showed up 40 minutes early as was told I was to early to check in. Told to come back in 20 minutes. HUH! Starter was nice enough to pair me up early with a twosome. Only Problem, the group ahead was 6 guys, 4 bags and 3 carts. I confronted the Starter and he informed he talked to them and said they had to split into two groups. Lasted for a hole. The front group,four kept dropping back to talk with the two. Marshall tried but had his hands full. Don't know what happened but they disappeared after 8 holes. Thank God!
