About
Rouge Park Golf Course is the city of Detroit's hidden gem. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1923. Despite the expansion of Detroit's golf offerings in later years, Rouge Park G.C. is still considered one of the best and most challenging of them all. The tranquil setting boasts an abundance of wildlife including deer, pheasants, and herons, making you completely forget that you're in the city. The golf course was carved from rolling hills, providing tricky contours and dramatically elevated tees. The Rouge River winds through the layout, coming into play on six holes. The difficulty of the course is balanced by the wide, player-friendly fairways. The par-4 11th is considered one of the Detroit metro area's toughest holes. It requires a 280-yard drive in order to clear not just one but two water hazards.

Busy for a reason
I was a solo and luckily got out before the course filled up. Course itself is in amazing shape. Guys at the pro shop were polite and friendly. There are some really challenging/fun holes. Would definitely recommend. Had a blast!
Great layout
Not bad for a city course , staff kept things moving, did a three and a half hour round. I’ll play again next time I’m in the D.
Just playing through
Stopped in last minute to play 9 on a travel day from out of town. I enjoyed it so much that we tried to play 9 more. Unfortunately their afternoon league was starting and we couldn't. I'll definitely be back when in the Dearborn area.
Great Value
I really enjoyed this course. Very pretty. Not easy. Staff was very cool. Pro shop minimal - some soft drinks and snacks.
I had to use some rental clubs, which didn't cost much, but they were kind of old. Hopefully they'll get some better ones soon.
Driving range is across the street - practically a separate facility.
For the course conditions, scenery. and challenge, this was a great value.
Fun Course - SLOW pace
Super fun course. Some challenging holes but no doubt.
Pace of play was slow. We started an hour late.
I think a combination of people showing late and being beginners.
Enjoyable course
Nice course to play close in without having to drive too far. The staff was very nice upon my arrival. The starter was friendly which is always a plus. The course was in good shape for this time of year and I was very surprised at the very good condition of the greens and fairways. The only negative was that the cart paths needed some work after a hard winter. It appeared that they are getting ready to make some repairs. This was not really an issue because there are not a lot of cart paths throughout the course which allows for easy entry to the fairway.
The green fees are incredibly reasonable and there is a great value to price for this course. I would play again.
