good day of golf
Considering the heat of the last couple weeks the course was in pretty good shape, the greens are large and tough "IF" you are not in close to the hole for your first putt.
It was a good day, the staff was very friendly, and the 3 others I got to play with were fairly close to my level of play, so, we all seemed to have a good time.
Nice course
Excellent practice facility. Well maintained course. More of a traditional course. Easy to walk, yet fun to play with many challenging shots.
beatuftiful day
a beautiful day today and spending it at high cedars was great. Mt. Rainier views were spectacular. course was in very good shape. enjoyed the round immensely and value was great.
Great greens, pretty course, SLOOOOOW
Wonderful greens in a great setting. Extremely slow pace on a Saturday- six hours! Staff did nothing to move slower groups along. And guy in pro shop will give you a lecture about not having a printout of your online booking even though course itself has record and sends own confirmation online in advance. Skip the lecture, dude. You already took my money. Good facility. Just need better customer service in pro shop and on course to pick up pace.
Great summer Course
This is the most picturesque course around on a clear, sunny day, other than Tapps Island (9hole course). However, DON'T play High Cedars in the winter or spring after heavy rains as it does not drain well at all and it is soggy and muddy. The day we played, it was busy and although management does a fantastic job of publicizing pace of play extraordinarily well, there was NO marshall enforcing ready golf rules. Being behind a particularly and excruciatingly slow threesome obviously uneducated in proper etiquette of golf, it was an excruciating and frustrating day. PLEASE, if you know you're holding up play, then let others play through! Used to have some beautiful views of the Puyallup River, but overgrown foliage has blocked most all the scenic views the course use to offer. Mount Rainier is still quite a spectacle on a clear day Unless you get a "hot" deal on golf now, I recommend you try Tapps Island, a hidden gem on Tapps Island that offers incredible views on most every hole!.
good course, drainage issues
It rained really hard twice. Puddles formed on the greens making putting almost impossible. However, the problem was short-lived and we had fun anyway. Great value at $30 apiece which included the cart.
Short game tuneup
This is a beautiful facility. The Executive course which is the par 3 course is great for sharpening your short game.
Greens like potato chips
Was a beautiful day! The mountain was out in all it's glory. The flowers and course scenery is really nice. There wa not a flat green to be found. All of them reminded us of a potato chip.......the really wavy kind! The greens weren't particularly fast but the undulation is incredible forget about trying to read them. The fairways are in good shape. Don't know if its the courses maint policy to have mowers start on hole one working their way to 18; however, we started around 11:30 and had mowers on practically every hole hole. One mower operator was not particularly friendly while we were waiting on the fairway to make our next shot .....heaven forbid a paying guest prevents him from doing his job! We thought they should have started the mowers on 18 and had them work backwards instead of playing the round with us. :-) Play was extremely slow, it's not a long course; however, we waited and waited on every hole; took almost 5 hours to finish! Beautiful course, super pro shop staff and restaurant staff.
Great Course.
Course was in excellent condition. Friendly staff. The course is a visual pleasure as well, with the river bordering parts of it and Mt. Rainier visible from many holes.
Executive 9 is great for kids!!!
My daughter is just learning to play the game of golf. After about 15 sessions at the driving range we finally made a trip to the course. She loved the short course.
High Cedars...sunshine in the afternoon
The course is in very good shape...greens are a little slow but that helps some like me...play pace was consistent with a short wait at some holes.
We'll kept course
I've played the 18-hole course and the short course may be a total of a half a dozen times, course has always been in excellent condition great pace of play on the short course would recommend this to all my friends, best short course around
Beautiful Spot
Had a great round with start on time. Appreciated the tag on score card reminding us of slow play rules and to do "ready golf". . .good idea. Hope the fake black dogs all over the course are helping with your "goose patrol". . .fairways were clean, and the greens were in great shape! Know a 4-some who drove all the way there last week with a tee time reservation who were sent away becuz no one could find their reservation? Huh? They really didn't appreciate no courtesy of inviting them back or at least giving them a discounted round for the screwup despite whether it was theirs or the course's :0) Sad way to lose customers.
Great Day of Golf
High Cedars continues to be one of my favorite places to play. Speed of play was excellent, greens were in great shape so balls rolled true and smooth, and as usual the surroundings were amazing being watched over by a family of Bald Eagles. The food also was exceptional as always. Don't hesitate to book your times to play at High Cedars!!
The coarse has a little bit of everything.
Have played High Cedars several times in the past, not in the past several years though. It was great to play it again, and can't wait to return.
It rained a little, but it's May in Seattle. This was the start of many more rounds per year than recent times.
Would not recommend playing this course.
The course was very wet (e.g. you could drive the ball in the middle of the fairway and be in a water hazard), muddy, had temporary tees, slow play (no rangers) and the cart they gave me pulled extremely hard to the left, so I had to fight that all round also. The greens were in decent shape. I heard this was a nice course? I guess they mean in the middle of the summer?
good walking coures
coures was in good shape and easy to walk and enjoyable to play
Nice day
Lucked out for a nice day of golf. Course was in good condition. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will be back
fun and challenging, beautiful setting
Had a fivesome in front of us, which slowed things down. Beautiful day, fun course.
wet day
Steady downpour of rain. Asked for a rain check to no avail. Was told that other golfers didn't have a problem even though the coarse looked like a ghost town. There was no club cover on the carts. Quit after 2 holes.
