The North at Hartland Glenn Golf Course

Great value on this course. Plays short and forgiving for the newer golfers. Awesome track at under $40 including a cart. The only negative was a few holes had a very shaggy middle of the fairway…. like a light weight rough. Other than that, very playable and easy to score well to increase your golf confidence.

Rude staff. Decent layout.

Our cart died on 15/16 and a staff member named “Nolan” was quite smug about not offering a solution. Not even as much as a sincere apology.

There’s plenty of courses out there. Won’t be returning to this one.

My initial response upon driving up was that I was in for a fun experience. The clubhouse and the area surrounding it are very well maintained, giving off a great first impression. That changed to disappoint after a great drive into the middle of the first fairway.

The positives: The cost is outstanding. $32 for 18 holes and a cart on a Sunday. The staff were courteous and professional, from the clubhouse manager to start the day to the cart attendant at the end of the round. The greens were exceptional. Rolled incredibly true. And the practice green matched the conditions of those on the course, which isn't always the case.

The negatives: The fairways were shaggy. That first drive was just left of center and it was like the first cut of rough on most other courses. The rough was far too punitive. Most rounds I might lose 1 ball; maybe 2. I lost 4 balls on decent drives because of thick clover and high weeds. The tee boxes need a lot of work. A lot. The cart paths are like Michigan dirt roads. The wind through wooded terrain, which would make it difficult to walk, not to mention dangerous. A sprained ankle waiting to happen.

The odd: The layout it ridiculous and not clearly marked on some holes. I came off the green on one hole on the back nine, drove down a cart path through the woods like most of the holes, and ended up by a green on the front nine. It was clearly a maintenance path. And for some reason, the path to the 8th tee crosses the 11th fairway. That is criminal. Also odd is the greens. Every single one is flat. There's no character or undulations at all. I had one of my best days putting ever (25 for the round). No three putts, 11 one putts, and I missed only one inside 8 feet. There's no break. The four lost balls? I bogeyed ever hole because I made putts. Shooting 79 with fours lost balls speaks to the shortness of the course and the flatness yet great conditions of the greens. Weird round for me. Not sure I'd risk playing the North Course based on the conditions despite the price.

Reasonible price. But rougf glass a little long so hard to find my ball even though I hit the ball well.

The workers this year are quite rude, but after the 6 minutes you will have to spend talking to them everything is great!

The course plays well but it really helps to have "local knowledge". Not a lot of trouble but enough.

Great golf course. The only issue is the condition of the fairways. You couldn’t differentiate between them and the first cut. Greens are in fantastic shape
