About
Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Our opinion.
The numbers of players were overbooked. We got lost after Hole #5. Finally found our way and was behind 4 groups. At the end of the 11th hole, we quit. That was after 3 hours and 15. We skipped Hole #7, to try to catch up. It didnt happen. Another golfer stated that they consistently overbook and its not uncommon to play a 6 x 6 1/2 hour round..
Good course for the price
Super friendly staff and the course was in decent shape.
Never coming back
Got to course for 7am tee time. Booked as a single, got to the tee and there was a gentleman already teeing off. Starter asked us to pair up which is no biggie but then proceeded to tell us to jump in the same cart as they were “running out of carts”. It was 7am and their lot was full of carts. Had a good enough time with the stranger but clearly this course doesn’t care about their customers need for personal space. Have never had to jump on a cart with a stranger in my 16 years of golfing. Got my first ace at this course earlier in the year, been golfing here since I was 18, but because of this instance I will never be back

Course in great shape, too bad about the 5 1/2 hour round.
Course was in great shape, greens fast and true. Was a great value for what you get. Only downside was the 5 1/2 hour round on a Thursday morning, course could have used a ranger instead of a starter. Overall, we had a great time and will be back.

Disappointed
I was excited to play this course and was completely bummed out. The course is 3 stars at best. 6.5 hour 18 holes since they have tee times every 8 minutes instead of 10. The course conditions weren't great and the clubhouse has the same decor as my grandmother's old house (RIP). $50 is too much to play here. If you don't believe me, go see for yourself :)

Made me ride in a strangers cart
Went out as a solo and got matched with a threesome. No big deal. But then at the tee box the rangers tell me I can't ride in my own cart. I didn't know the threesome.. Made me ride 18 with a stranger driving me around. Luckily the guy wasn't crazy or anything. But definitely won't be back.. They shouldn't let you book solo if that is how they're going to treat you.

Oh geez. The response by a representative of Cheming Hills was sorely lacking. No reason given for the numerous complaints by the public relating to long wait on each hole and the disrespect they show to the golfers.
We will never wait our time there and neither should anyone else.
