Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Good course

Only complaint was lots of golfers just jumping from hole to hole. Regulars but annoying

Highly recommend

This was our first time here. Pace of play and course conditions were top notch. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. Also the buffalo chicken wrap was a game changer. We will be back and recommending to friends and family.

Very slow and backed up

Course was very backed up and very slow. We pulled off at 15 due to the back ups at each tee box of 1 or 2 groups in front of us. Did not make for an enjoyable round of golf for the price we paid and we really love this course normally.

Fun course

Course has a great layout with a good mix of swinging deep off the tee boxes and shot placement holes. Conditions are feeling the summer heat, especially around tee boxes and in the rough.

Scenic course for mid Michigan

The course was in great shape. Very busy. More scenic and hilly than most courses in the Livingston county area. 32 bucks for 9 holes seems a bit high to me though.

Conditions were pretty solid played way worse conditions. Course layout was super unfriendly one of the tightest courses I have ever played. Greens rolled well but were not receptive at all

Decent

It’s a nice course, but at one time it was a Gem. The tees are hit or miss, the greens were very slow. Fairways and Rough were in good condition. The course plays very tight, possibly over grown, if you are having issues with your driver, you may not be able to find your ball. “That’s not a course issue, That’s a me issue”. All in all it was a fun day on a difficult course. It’s not at the top of my list, but very playable. Pro-shop doesn’t offer much, didn’t check out the Resturant, The Bevcart was readily available on a fairly busy day.

Nice course and not well known

Arrived at the course, got checked in after about 1 minute, hit some practice balls and putts and headed to the first tee. Was 1 under after 5 holes and thought the course was beautiful, but not particularly challenging. That changed. Course is tougher on the back nine (narrower). Greens were immaculate except for all the unrepaired ball marks. I don't understand why players can't take the extra 20 seconds to fix a ball mark. Was 44 miles to the course, but well worth it. But traveling M59 to get there, made the 44 miles seem like a special kind of commitment to playing Chemung. I'll be back.

Beautiful course with lots of great views!

This was my first time playing Chemung Hills but I definitely will be playing there a lot more. First off, hats off to the grounds crew. The course was in amazing shape. It has a great layout with rolling fairways offering lots of different lies. Uphill, downhill and sidehill. There’s a lot of great views from some of the Tee boxes that are way up above. The course is both challenging and very playable. What amazed me the most was the price compared to other courses in the area. Probably the best value you’ll find.
