Chemung Hills Golf Club

The course features some great elevation changes, pretty straightforward hole layouts (except 16 - where its a forced iron off the tee with no view of the green). The greens were in great shape and rolled very true.

Two complaints…no par 5 should ever be 350 yards. They closes the middle and back tees for some reason and forced everyone to play the front tees at the bottom.

The second complaint and reason I hesitate going back in spite of how fun the course was and the way it fit my eye…pace of play. The foursome in front of me fell two holes behind the foursome in front of them very quickly. The ranger did nothing to enforce pace of play. It took two hours to play six holes. I managed to get around them after a 3 hour front nine and finished rhe back nine in 75 minutes. I stayed and hit balls for an hour and that group finished in 6 hours and everyone behind them got stuck. Totally unacceptable.

enjoyed a final group outing paired with a good player marred by a group ahead of us that was slow and not good playing from the back tees. made the front 9. started on 10 miserably slow they couldn’t keep up with the group ahead somehow the second half they moved well we need the marshalls of that day to runaround and observe the pace on a busy day. and move people along. or maybe a lot of fun for the group but it’s absolutely miserable if you have to wait on every hole

Great course, layout, and value for money but today was slow due to being behind two slow 4-somes. Not the course fault but still frustrating.

It is a really really tough thing to review. This course is a bit of a mess and after talking with some of my other buddies around the area it was confirmed that chemung hills is passed its time. Very unorganized and an overall difficult experience to enjoy. Go somewhere else there’s plenty of nicer courses

I liked the changes in elevation and the way the holes were spaced. The greens were very tricky and the pin placements challenging. I’d like to come back and play the course again.

Very unique course that not only requires a lot of clubs in your bag, but you need to move the ball both left and right. It’s definitely a shot makers dream. The greens are challenging, very undulated and great speed. The tips at 6.4k is plenty challenging as I only hit driver a handful of times, plenty of risk-reward. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Very fun to play a casual round with a mixture of simple holes and challenging holes. Sand is a bit wet and firm in the morning rounds but a very enjoyable course.

have always loved the course. this day the maintenance crew seemed to not care where you were at

the greens were so furry even downhill putts stopped half way have not seen the greens in that bad a shape all season. and why is no one repairing their divot marks on the greens my score loved the high numbers

Signed up for a tee time for 4pm, 18 holes. We saw drink/food cart in the first hole but never again for the rest of the day. We stopped at the turn around 6pm, and the bar/restaurant, bathrooms, pro shop were all closed. Nothing was open. If you allow people to book 18 holes at 4pm, don’t close everything down so early! We played all the way through, finished up around 8. Never saw a ranger or staff after the first hole.

Good shape, very hilly, used all my clubs. Interesting holes and great views. Greens were just plugged and sanded so couldn’t really rate them. Reservations made no reference to green conditions.. i played from senior tee (I’m 75) and the hole lengths were very good, couple of par 5’s a little short. I will play it again.
