Chemung Hills Golf Club
About
Established in 1927, Chemung Hills Golf Club is one Livingston County's oldest courses. The classic design has withstood the test of time beautifully and it is still considered one of the area's toughest public courses. The layout stretches across lush, rolling hills that are dappled with mature trees. Chemung Hills is known almost as much for the beautiful scenery as it is for the challenging design, which is characterized by its elevation changes. The ups and downs on the course range from subtly tricky to dramatic and intimidating. The layout has a player-friendly mix of short and mid-length holes, even all of the par 5s are reachable. Though you may not need length, your shots will need to be straight and accurate. You'll face blind shots on several holes. Strong iron play will be generously rewarded on this tough golf course.

Great value!
Played here many times, and this was the earliest in the season I have played and course conditions were very good. I was surprised when the ranger forced me to pair up and ride with another single as this was the first time they did that. After switching carts and two holes in, I realized I left my hat in my original cart so I called the clubhouse and they were nice enough to drive my hat out to me! I thought that was really nice and very appreciated. Overall it’s a great course with a mix of tough holes and scorable holes. I consider this my home course since I only live 3 minutes away!
Chemung Hills - waaaaay to slow . . .
Look, for a Thursday mid-morning round in Michigan in mid April, after 2 hours and 45 minutes on the front nine, starting 30 minutes behind schedule I might add, well, I quit and left the course -- most likely never to return . . . ridiculous ...
All the starter had to do was send the local college mens and women's teams off the back nine instead of having everyone else being jammed up behind them on the first tee as they only had a nine hole practice round!
Poor course management to say the least!
Great Shape
Course was in great shape for early season. Greens were solid and fun to putt on. Exceeded what we expected.
Don’t play here
You’ll be disappointed not only with ranger rick but with the pace of play.
Great layout…terrible pace
The course features some great elevation changes, pretty straightforward hole layouts (except 16 - where its a forced iron off the tee with no view of the green). The greens were in great shape and rolled very true.
Two complaints…no par 5 should ever be 350 yards. They closes the middle and back tees for some reason and forced everyone to play the front tees at the bottom.
The second complaint and reason I hesitate going back in spite of how fun the course was and the way it fit my eye…pace of play. The foursome in front of me fell two holes behind the foursome in front of them very quickly. The ranger did nothing to enforce pace of play. It took two hours to play six holes. I managed to get around them after a 3 hour front nine and finished rhe back nine in 75 minutes. I stayed and hit balls for an hour and that group finished in 6 hours and everyone behind them got stuck. Totally unacceptable.
final fall outing
enjoyed a final group outing paired with a good player marred by a group ahead of us that was slow and not good playing from the back tees. made the front 9. started on 10 miserably slow they couldn’t keep up with the group ahead somehow the second half they moved well we need the marshalls of that day to runaround and observe the pace on a busy day. and move people along. or maybe a lot of fun for the group but it’s absolutely miserable if you have to wait on every hole
Great course but slow today
Great course, layout, and value for money but today was slow due to being behind two slow 4-somes. Not the course fault but still frustrating.
