Hawk Meadows at Dama Farms Golf Club

About
Hawk Meadows at Dama Farms is worth the short drive from central southeast Michigan. It offers a challenging round for an affordable price with something for golfers of every skill level. The seemingly mild course is 6,377 yards from the back tees, but it's not to be underestimated. Though water doesn't come into play much, there are other strategically placed hazards to keep the game interesting. For beginners, the golf course is relatively open and also quite forgiving but to stay out of trouble you'll have to keep it in the fairway. The course is gentle enough for junior players but at the same time it's nice for a quick round for more advanced players who are looking for a casual game with a few challenging holes.

Meh
Too many people. Had to wait 30 minutes to get a cart even though I had a reservation. Course was very wet, not their fault.

Completely unacceptable
They just sent everyone out as soon as possible. Apparently the object is to get as many greens fees as they can. Not to allow people to enjoy a round of golf. It is expected to space groups by at least a few minutes, maybe have a ranger enforce pace. Took over 5 hours for a pretty easy course. Waiting on every single shot.
The beverage cart disappeared after the 6th hole, never to be seen again. Sadly we were out there for another 4 hours!
Half of the greens are aerated, in the first week of August. Many were barren and covered in grass seed.
I will never return.
Hackers Paradise
Golf Course was hard as rock, greens extremely slow, course lets 5-somes go off.. Tee times every 7 minutes.. We had a 3.5 hour front 9, and luckily, the 5-some in front of only played 9, and we got in our second 9 in 2 hours(we still have to wait for the 4 some who admired every shot) I guess its a good course for beginners.. Avoid if you can..
pretty fun/pretty busy
my buddy and i are newer to golf, this is our second season so we’ve began venturing out to other courses and hawk meadows came up on golf now. upon arrival we checked in and got our carts no hassle, staff was friendly and funny. first tee was very backed up!!(7:50am) waited probably 20min to tee off for a group of 4-6 who wasn’t even all there not allowing our 2 man to pass. not a big issue for us as it was early and we didn’t mind kicking back, but teeing off in front of about 10 people is never fun for a beginner/intermediate player. surprisingly after that jam on the first tee the round went very smooth. course was well kept, game flowed, and holes were a decent challenge for starters. would love to come back
Course hasn’t changed
Covid 19? This course has zero care. Pro shop attendant blew his nose and never washed his hands. Normal cups with no protection, ball washers full of water and soap & ball takes at every bunker.
Was going to sign my son up for the junior camp and a junior membership ( it’s a great deal) but after seeing this hole in the wall course hadn’t changed, we won’t be back ever again.
Good value overall
It’s a well maintained course, friendly staff, fair price.
Great Golf Day
Have played here many times, staff always very helpful, course was very playable condition. Bit of drive for us to get there but staff, and price make it worthwhile.
Love the 18
The 18 is great in every way. 19-27 I shoot every well at but the road noise is an issue. Awesome natural grass put put course on location.
