Coyote Preserve Golf Club

About
Coyote Preserve Golf Club in Fenton is one of the only courses in the area designed by Arnold Palmer. The course has a hilly terrain that provides plenty of elevation changes a well as stunning views. Tumbling across deep ravines and native wetlands, the layout requires many carries over dramatic depressions and water hazards but many are seemingly intimidating but actually quite reasonable. Massive, finely sculpted bunkers strategically frame the greensides of many holes. While some of them are manageable, others are deep and sod-faced. The tricky hazards in conjunction with the dramatic elevations demand both accuracy and creative shot-making. The golf course has a memorable finish with a par-5, risk-reward hole. There is ample room off the tee on this downhill, dogleg left hole and it presents a few different options for the second shot. With some thought, scoring par is definitely a possibility.

Great golf!!
Golf in the fall in Michigan can be a challenge. We hit the perfect weather until a storm rolled in on the 18th hole. Overall it was an excellent course and very challenging on certain holes. We had a great time and will definitely return.
Sunday Funday
The staff was excellent. After playing this course I understand why this is the stepchild to the Coyote Preserve in South Lyon. The fairways are in terrible shape, bunkers haven't been racked so you are playing on hard pack sand. Greens where at best in good shape. I understand now why on the day of playing how many open tee times were available. They are asking all the $$ there is a lot of courses in the same area you can play for either the same rate of $89 or less that are much better.
Strategic but fun!
This course was very strategic bout we could enjoy.
Fortunately we could play with Hot Deal.
So the price was very reasonable.
I want to play here again.
Beautiful yet challenging
Not for rookies. Stunning course. Staff was amazing
Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful yet challenging course! Staff was beyond friendly. They went above and beyond.
Just Ok
I had high hopes for this course but fairway conditions were wet and considerable areas were roped off making this hilly course exhausting to play in 85+ degree heat. Some of the were nearly impossible and completely unforgiving. That being said, many holes had a total Up North Michigan vibe with beautiful views. Greens were fair and in good shape. There are many courses in that area that I would play again, this is not one of them.
Thoughts
I’ve played many courses throughout Michigan and the US. The layout of this course is moderately challenging, with length being the greatest challenge. Greens are very good with exaggerated roll and challenging reads. The course is in average condition for a public course - disappointed to see the lack of care by public in repairing ball marks and divots (typical on public courses sadly). Overall course is above average for public courses in Michigan and worthy of playing.
Great value
Loved the course. Only area i can ding them on in pace of play. They seemed over booked especially for a Monday. We were paired with two other people who were very slow.
