About
Faulkwood Shores Golf Club first opened in 1971, exactly a century after the historic farmhouse that serves as the clubhouse was built. Located in Howell, it's considered one of southeastern Michigan's best values. The golf course has a traditional layout that is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels but there are some challenging hole designs that will appeal to those that are more advanced. Water hazards come into play on eight holes throughout the golf course, including a stream that runs alongside the first hole. The fairways are tight and the greens are fast and well guarded by bunkers. There are also a few subtle undulations that can be tricky to maneuver. Faulkwood Shores Golf Club requires accuracy but it's not overly punishing if you're slightly errant.

Fair, but Tough
The fairways are narrow, wide expanses of short rough to both sides. Greens are small, but hitable in regulation. It is recommended that you have a card. Multiple holes have creeks or other unplayable features across the approaches to greens. Many of these are not readily visible from the tee boxes. The back nine is better shape than the front none.

Rough cart paths, bad tee boxes. Friendly staff and a good , challenging course layout!
Tough but fair
The course overall was in great condition and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The length makes use of all your clubs especially for me and we only played from the whites. Its still 6600 yards from those tees. The greens were in terrific shape but the slope and pin locations make them very challenging. It has a practice range and a putting green that closely matches the speed on the course- didn't help me much. The tee boxes and cart paths are in rough shape as the only real drawbacks. Highly recommended
Okay
Decent lay-out but the t boxes are absolutely atrocious. Fix that and its a pretty good track.
Needs work
You get what you pay for... I've played this course many times throughout the years and not much has changed.
It's a tough track with no senior tees, and you will get many par 4's around 400 yards. Also, it seems a number of trees (now) could be removed to make this track easier. Greens were nice but it seemed like every tee box was a wreck / uneven.
Great course - Good value
Have played here many times and it is always challenging and enjoyable. Overall, its in decent shape, the golf cart paths are rough and off the fairway can be a real adventure. The greens are terrific , roll true with good pace. They have a nice putting practice area and driving range. A nice mix of tough and manageable holes. Well worth the time.
