Inkster Valley Golf Club
About
Inkster Valley Golf Club is located just 10 minutes from the Detroit metro area, which is why it is so unexpected to see a layout featuring over 100 acres of wetlands and rolling hills. The course runs alongside and crosses the Rouge River with water coming into play on 14 holes. The course has an interesting mix of holes including short par 4s and challenging par 3s, many of which require tricky carries over a marsh. The 11th has a particularly tough carry that has earned it the reputation of being one of the area's most challenging holes. There are some difficult elements to contend with but overall the golf course offers some room for error off the tee and on most approaches. With three sets of tees ranging from 4,500 to 6,700, it is a formidable test from the tips but quite playable from the other two tees.

Hit the ball straight off the tee, lots of blind shots.
First time playing the course and it can be very visually intimidating off the tee. Many blind tee shots that require less then driver if you hit it over 230-250 off the tee. The condition of the course was very good and the greens were rolling great. Much different from many of the flat courses of the downriver area. If you can't hit it straight it can be a very long day. The only complaint is that some of the trees/native grasses are overgrown and the course would be more playable in spots if it was cut down.
Very Nice All Around Course
Always liked this course. Challenging and well maintained. Golf Now rate a big plus! Thanks!
nice senary
Nice greens lots of deer pace of play is average but steady
Greens were quick and held.
Very good layout and well maintained.Pace of play was great.Looking forward to playing again.
Fun club selections off the tee.
Nice course gets a lot of play but large greens and good design allows for heavy foot traffic to be of no concerns. Greens run true.
some challenging holes, good value, greens good shape
course in good shape, greens were soft. course could be marked a little better. several challenging holes. good course
low price = low expectations
The pace of play here was horrific. We spent more than four hours on the course before deciding to leave in the 13th hole. It was Saturday afternoon so slow play is typical but it was still irritating because there was no ranger to move things along. The beverage cart wasn't out despite the 85 degree weather. I asked inside at the turn and was told the cart girl had called in. The tee boxes were destroyed as were the greens. On every tee shot, you struggle to find a spot where your feet won't be unevenly placed in random divots, and on most putts I found myself repairing old ball marks before putting. The course layout is nice but it needs some serious work. If you're going out for a twilight round, this might suffice, but I would avoid this place on weekends.
One of Wayne counties most challenging golf courses .

Tough track
Interesting layout: there are 9 holes where you cannot see the green from the tee, and depending on where you place your drive you may still have a blind approach shoot. There was good mix of long holes and medium holes (from the back tees). Significant amount of forced carries.
Tee boxs are rough and need attention. Greens are fury and hard.
Nice course. Shoot maker course but does need some attention. Also, the Tee Boxs and Bunkers need alot of work they are in Rough shape.
Tough but fun
I really enjoy playing this course. The first time I played I was bewildered because there are a number of blind shots you have to make, but after playing a second time with someone who had played there 30 times I felt more comfortable (with some insight from him). The course is on the outskirts of Inkster which might first make you pause, but the course and facilities are immaculate. There are some tight fairways and a number of shots that require accuracy, but the challenge makes we want to keep going back. Even my 12 year old likes it--no matter how many balls he loses.
Extremely demanding
As usual, the course was in great shape; the only criticism is that due to the abundant rains lately, much of the foliage has grown too high for golfers to see where to hit the next shot over the foliage.
Nice course for the location. Too tricked out.
The greens were horrible. No one out there can fix a divot. Much like Gateway was the past few years. Either hand out free repair tools or have a ranger watching for those people that are too lazy to fix their own divots. At a minimum, ask for a volunteer to do it for free golf.
nice layout, but needs a little TLC!!!
Course has nice layout, but needs a little tending to. Greens could be rolled and traps were generally filled with water and no real sand.... A couple of fairways had some large bare spots...
Tough course
Requires you to keep the ball straight and in the short grass. Could use some maintenance on some holes. Ex: goose dropping covering the 16th par 5 and divots on the tee boxes.
So much potential.
The course was very challenging. If you come out here and grab driver all the time you will not score. Be smart. The staff encounters started out fine. The fella behind the desk was great. It was unpleasent faceing the lady behind the snack bar twice. (Turn, and end of the round) Not that she did anything spacific wrong. She was just cold, unfriendly and she made you feel as if you somehow have burdened her when you placed your order. I would have given this course 4 stars if not for her. Not exceptionaly long, (allows even shorter hitters to compete with the bombers) but tough.
Course requires precision
I like this course but it is tough. Plenty of wetlands come into play(bring EXTRA balls),and there are many blind shots. After playing this course awhile, you learn where you want your ball to land. If you score well here,it really gives you an ego boost. The course is not overly long,so it is playable.
its very much a shot makers course
course is in great shape greens are challenging lots of sharp dog legs
My home course
Inkster valley is 2 miles from my house so I get to play it a lot sometimes once a week.
Blind shots are the name of the game here, you might want to drive up and check things out around the corner before you hit a shot here.
Unfortunately this is Inkster and it's kinda getto, but to look at things on the positive side this is motor city golf at its best.
If you like to play from the tips this is a tough course, from the first tee you must trust your instincts and sense of direction because you can't see the fairway at all.
The first 9 is tight and plays tough expecially hole 6 one of my favorites.
The back 9 is a little more open except for hole 11, this is one of my favorite holes to play in the whole south east michigan region.
On hole 12 there is an abandoned building behind the green where me and my friends play "closest to the window". Take an 8 iron and smash a window.
Holes 13 through 16 bomb away tye driver, hole16 par 5 is where. I hit my 1 and only eagle. Holes 17 and 18 things get tight again.
I wish maintenance was a bit better here
Great place to find 20/30 golf balls
Hole
Need of maintenance
Weir course, mixed feelings about it
Great area for a golf course, but this is definitely a neighborhood course
The first hole starts off bad, bumpy ride on fairways, houses way to close for comfortable second shot, i actually shanked one on someone's porch with kids toys all over the yard. I don't want to kill anyone while playing golf...not good
First impressions...dog track
After hole 4 things get interesting, Holes 4 through 9 are fun and different...i actually looped and played these 6 holes again.
The back 9 has a different feel, almost like some holes got replaced and redesigned as the neighborhood was built.
I bet the original layout was much better.
The neighborhood expansion ruined this course, the maintenance team should be fired and they are the reason I only paid 8$ hot deal for this course.
