Inkster Valley Golf Club is located just 10 minutes from the Detroit metro area, which is why it is so unexpected to see a layout featuring over 100 acres of wetlands and rolling hills. The course runs alongside and crosses the Rouge River with water coming into play on 14 holes. The course has an interesting mix of holes including short par 4s and challenging par 3s, many of which require tricky carries over a marsh. The 11th has a particularly tough carry that has earned it the reputation of being one of the area's most challenging holes. There are some difficult elements to contend with but overall the golf course offers some room for error off the tee and on most approaches. With three sets of tees ranging from 4,500 to 6,700, it is a formidable test from the tips but quite playable from the other two tees.

Mark the course better

The course was overall in good shape. The sand traps need to be worked on they were muddy.

Challenging course from the tips that require you to hit good shots.

Inkster Valley is always a challenging but fair course to play. Springtime golf weather this year (2013) has been long overdue. When I played the course in mid April conditions were tougher than normal because the grass in the fairways and on the greens was completely dormant. Also because of recent rain, there was standing or casual water in several fairways so it was cart path only. Despite those issues, the layout requires you to hit accurate shots on many holes, which forces focus and concentration. Had a terrific time for one of my early rounds of the year. I look forward to a return visit when the weather and conditions are at their best.

Unusual layout but great fun

greens in outstanding shape, fairways well manicured. We intend to play this one again, and try to find some of our lost golf balls!

Greens were in good shape for fall ball.

It was our first time at the coarse. Greens and fairways were in good shape. Our only complaint would be to many blind shots which made the coarse more challening. Now that we have played the coarse, it will be more fun next time we go out!

tough layout

The layout of this course will challange any golfer at any level, with the forced carries, undulating greens and man sized par 5's it will take a few times to get used of where to place your shots on some of the holes, ample room off the tee box to swing away but not without risk, my only knock would be the condition of the tee boxes and the need for better bunker maintence, other than that this course offers challange at a fair price..

Lacks customer service

This course is moderately challenging. No beverage cart on the course. On the turn we stopped by the bar for a sandwich and drinks only to wait 20 minutes to be acknowledged and a very limited selection. Kitchen staff seemed annoyed taking our orders. Half of menu was not available because the oven wasn't ready. Only hotdogs available and they looked like they've been on the grill for hours. Complained to pro shop with no resolution. For the money they normally charge you would expect better service. Will probably not go there again unless there is an amazing deal. There are plenty of courses that are better for the money.

Really slow play.

Play was extremely slow. Roughs were long and had not been cut for awhile. It took 20 minutes to get a sandwich made at the turn. Not the norm for this course.

Inkster Valley

Tough course with a lot of blind tee shots. Greens are medium to slow. It's more than you would expect in the middle of Inkster. Bring some golf balls.
