Wallinwood Springs Golf Club
About
Wallinwood Springs Golf Club is bordered by the scenic Grand River on its eastern side. The challenging layout boasts an island green, an island tee, and a peninsula fairway. The golf course has two distinctly different nines, beginning with an open Scottish-links layout before moving onto the back nine, which is enclosed by mature trees. Wind definitely plays a role on the front nine and on the backside of the course there is a 26-acre, man-made lake, where if you're not careful you'll be met with a watery grave on five holes. Extensive mounding is paired with 30 strategically placed sand traps to provide even more challenges. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 16th, which stretches to more than 400 yards. Golfers will need a long, straight drive from the island tee in order to avoid the water on both sides of the fairway.

Great course layout.
Played front nine. Was not told on golfnow or clubhouse back nine was closed due to flooding. Call course pryer to booking to check status on back nine.
Great course layout and well maintained. Some greens in need of attention because of bear spots along edge. I have played this course several times and enjoy it very much. It is fair off the tee but challenging once on the greens.
Wallingwood
Two very slow groups caused the 9 hole round to go 3 1/2 hours. Ranger should have done something. I understand it was Saturday afternoon but still. The course is nice and needs some water.
very satisfied
good challenging course. Had some nice holes. Course wasn't long but not too short. Greens could of been in better shape. Overall enjoyed it and would do it again.
Wondeful
This course is a ‘designed’ golf course, meaning it’s not thrown together. Someone put some thought into the layout of each hole, fairway, tee, and overall landscape. It is challenging, but not overwhelming. I have played many courses in the Grand Rapids area and this course ranks among the best. The fairways are cut nicely with a fair amount of bunkers and water hazards. If you are tired of the same old, same old, do yourself a favor and give Wallinwood Springs a try. I think you will be pleased.
Always Dependable
This review is for the back 9 only as I sneaked away for an hour after lunch the other weekday afternoon. Staff gave me a good heads up to play the back for a quick 9 and they were right, I played in about an hour.
Back 9 was a little soggy still and the blue tees were set up in tough spots but the back 9 is a great test. Straight driver or 3 wood is needed on nearly all the par 4 and 5 tee shots as OB is usually water or marsh on both sides. Leaves weren't an issue for me, greens were in good shape and looked to be aerified about 7 to 14 days ago.
Make sure to check out their mobile website for smartphone GPS and flyovers cause on 10, 12, 16 and 17 a crooked driver could hurt much more than a stock straight 5 iron to hybrid shot.
Well maintained
Nice holes, back nine last 3 holes good challenge.Has combination of several difficult shots which I enjoyed.
Nice scenery with challenging holes
Love this course. Excellent condition.
Beautiful fairways.
Plenty of seperation between fairways.
Wallingwood Springs is a lot of fun.
Wallinwood Springs is really fun. As the course description suggests, it is really two different courses. The back nine, in particular, has some really interesting and challenging holes. I play this course at least once a year and always enjoy it. If the maintenance were a little more consistent, it would be a real gem.
mixture of holes
a good course near grand rapids that has a good mixture of easy and hard holes. the course was in good shape and the staff was friendly
