Good course for the money but could be great
For the money, the course was challenging and fun to play.
They have let bunkers grow grass, letting them grow long and focusing more on the tee boxes and greens would make the course great.
The course itself needed a little work but was terrible. There were a few burn /dirt patches on the fair and greens but playable.
I would play again and would recommend with expectations of course given the price point.
GREAT COURSE
Thus was my fourth time okay this course. I find it well maintained and greens are awesome. The course layout is awesome and a few gem challenges lay ahead.
Average golfer
The course is in great shape but the tees could be improved. It is a very fair course and the average golfer can have an enjoyable experience.
Average golfer
like the course, it is well kept and challenging but yet fair for the average golfer
One of our favorite places to play
The staff are very nice people. Pace of play flucuates depending on time and day. Today was great on the back nine. Layout may be confusing the first couple times it's played, but easy once it is figured out. Just plain fun to play.
Terrible Experience - Don't play here!
I had my worst golf course experience ever here. Sunday evening around 6pm, so the course was not busy. The staff was so unprofessional and unfriendly. They refused to greet me when I entered the clubhouse. I had my 4 year old daughter with me. After about 10 seconds of awkward silence and me saying "hi" the staff member finally said "She can't play!" Caught completely off guard I said "well she's learning. Gotta start them young." The staff member proceeded to say no we don't allow kids on the course. After me trying to gain clarity on this ridiculous policy the staff member ended up saying "I'm not going to continue this conversation with you. You can leave now."
After this terrible experience with the staff member I will never attempt to play here again and will actively recommend that others don't as well. In a time where golf courses are regularly closing, having a rule that kids aren't allowed on the course is completely ridiculous.
Potential, but needs work.
nice layout, but course needs work on Tees, greens and bunkers.
Downing farms hidden gem
This place is great. No complaints besides the pace of the players I was behind (twosome that took 3 shots each per stroke). Challenging, fun, and well kept. I’m not really sure what to say besides I loved it, and will certainly return. Great price, a lot of very fun holes with different looks and layouts. I’m fairly certain the sand traps however are empty due to Covid (rakes and all) so that’s the only thing missing this year which is indersranvle and helpful for those who usually land in bunkers anyways
