Cheap Hidden Gem
Great course for a peaceful morning round. Not super busy. Able to take my time. Loved it for a average golfer.

Definitely worth a visit
I would definitely bring a friend with me next time I go, the course is laid out very well! It’s definitely challenging with the many hazards that are around the course such as water creeks lakes some small fairways.

We were one of the first tee times in the morning. The dew was heavy and the greens had not been rolled. Made putting very difficult. Signage (directing players from one green to the next tee) could be better. For the value it was an enjoyable course - like playing golf in northern lower Michigan.

Good Value
I am a believer in 'you get what you pay for'. Downing Farms isn't going to be labeled as prestigious but it is very welcoming for the not so serious golfer. I paid $25 on a Sunday morning and can say that value is hard to beat. Perfect course if you are just looking for a relaxing round.
They do need to mow the fairways and greens though. Slowest greens I have putted on this season.
Pleasantly surprised.
This was my first Time playing Downing Farms and I was pleasantly surprised. For the price I wasn't expecting much but I have to say I really enjoyed it. Compared to some of the other inexpensive courses in the area this might be my new favorite. Best way for me to describe it is that it is rustic. It was challenging in its own way but fun as well. My only complaint is that it is easy to get turned around due to lack of directional signs going hole to hole.

Beautiful course
Really enjoyed my first time golfing at this course. It’s clean and well maintained. Got the full value for the price paid. Will try again!!

Terrible
Overbooked, no ranger keeping pace of play. The sand traps are just mud pits. Honestly the worst time I’ve ever had playing a round of golf. Go anywhere else. We sat for 10-15 minutes on each tee box waiting, no ranger ever came by. This place is a disgrace.

Get what I paid for
Have played nicer courses, but they cost more. Good value. Nice greens, could have better delineation between fairways and rough, but overall I good time was had by all.

Improving all the Time
We play this course a few times a season. We see it steadily improving. It has been hot for the last week so they have probably been watering more, however that does create some standing water or mushy sections. But, again, improvements are obvious. Nicely maintained fairways and greens.

Hidden gem
Short course but a fun layout. Some holes were open while others were cut out of the trees. Greens were nice a bit slow but in good shape. Tee boxes needed a little work but overall good experience and would play it again
