Kicked off the course on15th hole
Terrible experience, would never go back. Could not care what the price was, there is no reason to be asked to leave a golf course on the 15th hole. There were no complaints, no alcohol was involved, but we were the last 3 on the course. Had plenty of time to finish up, but we're told that would be our last hole, because they were closing for the evening. Later fall golf, on a golf now purchase. Ranger obviously had better plans, and was anxious to close up. We were asked to exit the course after the 15th hole a because he was leaving for the day, and needed the carts back.
My father sent an email , but never heard back from anyone at this establishment, so we vowed to never play there again.
Stay Away
big mistake thinking this was a good value.. Walked off after playing 12 holes course wasn't playable and pace was horrific.
Review 27-Sept-15
Paired up with a guy who smoked like a chimney. Other than that it was a good round.
Unprofessional staff, aweful course conditions, and dirty carts??
I had the worst experience golfing here, after my nine I asked to speak to the manager to tell him he/she should wash the carts as they were muddy, I also complained about the starter putting me behind a slow group and how it took several minutes to see if it was okay if I, a single player, could tee off 10 where no one had been seen for the greater half hour. Management ignored the comments and overall I will never recommend this course nor play it again
For the right price, worth the nod
Overall, this course isn't spectacular and wont "wow" you in any way. Having said that, for 15 bucks (or cheaper) it's definitely worth playing.
The course is in decent enough condition to play a solid round and have a good time. The staff is fantastic and very welcoming, which is always a plus.
All in all, give 'er a shot if the price is right.
Slowwwwww
Nice old course. Made the turn in 1.5 hrs and find out they put a women's league off in front of us. Course is old and in less than average shape. Left because of the slow play. Nothing more frustrating when they put people off the back as you are turning.
AGAIN, YOU GUYS CAME THROUGH
GREAT TIME WITH MY BETTER HALF,
WE, HAD A GREAT ROUND, NO ONE IN FRONT, NO ONE BEHIND.
ALL IN ALL, WE'LL USE GOLF NOW FROM NOW ON...THANKS, RAUL
Decent value if you're looking for a practice course
Second time I've played here this season. The $25 rate with cart is an alternative to a couple of large buckets of range balls at a driving range. However, either due to poor tee time planning or just trying to cram as many $25 duffers the pace of play is absolutely horrible. Both times we have been out it took just under 6 hours to play. Many of the people playing here could use a lesson in golf etiquette and the ranger was apologetic about slow play, but c'mon do something about it instead of just lip service.
The overall condition of the course for this time of year is not that bad, however there is one hole on the front nine where the blue tee box is actually a rotted wood deck with an old AstroTurf mat on it, they should invest some capital into a real tee box.
Good value
Decent quality/quality course for a great price. Pace was slow, so factor that in with any time restrictions
Course fairways and cart paths are bad.
The course fairways and cart paths are bad. Grass isn't green and should be dark green this time of year, end of May first of June. Carr paths are terrible. Pace of play is horrific. No rangers in site to speed the pace of play up!!!!
Very nice, well maintained course
This course is very nicely mainted. It is very open at times and can be forgiving off the tee. Course was very busy, was told there was league play on a Sunday morning, but the pace of play was about what we expected. Took about 4.5 hours for 18 holes. For $25 on a Sunday I would play again.
A shotmakers course
Challenging course that definitely rewards those that can keep it in play off the tee and have a decent short game. Course is well maintained, has a very friendly staff, and is the type of course you want to play again.
Nice mom and pop golf course, good bargain.
I never played this course before and was skeptical for the price, and the shorter distance at 5800 yards, but was very pleasantly surprised with this course. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in very nice shape.
This course has a little of everything, some long and short paragraph 3 ' s 4 ' s , and 5's. Some narrow fairways and some wide open one's and some dog legs. Not much elevation changes, but this was once a farm.
I enjoyed playing here, and they also advise $22 week day's all you can play and $28 weekends all you can play.
I will be playing this course many more times in the future.
Downing deal
Got a great deal I GolfNow and enjoyed the round! Tight and small, downing is a challenge but a great place to work on short irons!!!

An an enjoyable afternoon in April
Played this course in the middle of April and didn’t need to clean tons of wet grass off my cleats or mud on my shoes. I call that excellent drainage and superb course layout. The staff is friendly; the course is beautiful with multiple tee boxes for different levels of play. All in all an enjoyable afternoon.
Told they were closing with daylight left, SMH
The ranger told us that 15 would be our last hole. It was around 4:30 and there was plenty of daylight left to complete the round. Just to clarify, we weren't drinking or abusing the course or carts in any way shape or form. There was no offer for a credit or refund at all. I've never been asked to leave a golf course when there was obviously time to finish a round. Our only thoughts were that the only person left at the facilities had an appointment to make, and our remaining hindered his ability to get where he needed to go. We got to our cars and again were hurriedly asked to move along. Couldn't believe what was happening, will not ever recommend this course to anyone.
Downing Farms Fall Golf
Downing Farms is a fine course for the value. Not overly well maintained and not very long either. Bunkers were poor shape.
Fair price for the money. ($25)
