Great course if you can get a deal
I played this course in a hot deal for $48 a piece, but it usually runs $60-$80 a person. Course was great, it had rained the morning of us playing but the starter said we were free to take the cart where we wanted, and any fairway puddles dried up quickly. Course layout is nice, with large greens that don’t overkill the break in putts. Driving range is nice, and so is the practice green. I’ll be back if I get another deal on a tee time.
Great conditions
Even on a rainy sunday the conditions of this course were excellent. Pace of play was also great for a weekend, played with 4 had 4 in front of us and we finished just under 5 hours. For a public course, this might be the best around.
Over paid
I have booked thru golfnow with pre-paid, but my friend he paid again with cash at the shop. My friend wanted to pay for his wife (another tee time) but the proshop staff charged for two by considering he would play with his wife. But there was no effort to resolve this issue because their hand written tee time sheet said my friend played with his wife.
The staff said there is nothing can do and hung up the phone. Very rude.
Great course, price too high
I have played this course for 60 years and it’s always in good shape. The price like most of the golf courses in the area has bumped up too high for the value.
Pleasant course
Wonderful course friendly staff great conditions. They were ready for play, that has come early this season. Course is challenging without being difficult. It has a good variety of holes allowing to play all the clubs in my bag.
Are you kidding me?
Redemption attempt failed. Last time out the round took nearly 6 hours but the course was nice so I was hoping for better experience today. NOPE. Course extremely flooded with only 14 holes opened but allowed us to book 18 holes. Charged the walking rate of $50 discount for cart path only 14 waterlogged holes. Manager on duty a sarcastic “well I sent you an email” (which I still can’t seem to find). That was my last time wasting money there. Don’t waste yours.
Comfortable to Play
A relatively open course, with large greens that is well maintained. Pace of Play was 4 hours on a weekday.
Salem Hills
The course was in great shape.
Greens cut and fast.
Fairways very good.
Glad to have spent my day at Salem Hills.
It was too slow. We started a 18 hole course at 4:30 pm and could not complete the 17th hole due to delay. The ranger asked to bring the cart back by 8:45 pm although sunset was at 9:08 pm.
Great course and value
Played after a heavy week of rain so it was cart path only on several holes and several holes were still really wet. Besides that, the course was in excellent shape and greens were great!
Great public course
One of the best public courses in the area. Tee to green in awesome condition. Fairways could rival some private clubs. It has been a very dry spring and start to summer. This course is in far better shape than most. Staff friendly cart girls out frequently on a Friday morning. Took some people whom hadn’t played at this course and everyone agreed need to play again!
