Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
About
The Myth Golf & Banquet, formerly known as Beaver Creek, tumbles across rolling hills. Situated next to Lake Orion, the golf course sits on protected land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including sandhill cranes. There is both an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole par-3 course. In 2007, when the Myth was established, several improvements were made to the championship layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The scenic golf course features boardwalk cart paths that cut through beautiful pine forests. Don't get too distracted by the scenery though because there is plenty to keep you busy including multi-tiered greens and water hazards on almost every hole. The 13th is the golf course's signature hole. This par 3 plays from an elevated tee over water to a generous green, offering a great opportunity for a birdie.

Hole 13, fun par 3 Photo submitted by Tait2dn on 05/09/2013
Great par 3 course
Holes 1-8 are great, hole 9 is an incredibly difficult hole to shoot par on with the large tree in the way of the pin but overall it’s in excellent shape.
Stay home
Booked a 3:52 tee time for 2 golfers on a Wednesday afternoon. League went off at 4:06 on 1, wasn’t an issue with myself and the other golfer with me. We had a younger group of 4 who was scrambling in front of us that tees off at 3:46 and while they played notoriously slow and were teeing up two after a bad shot, they eventually worked their pace to a respectable level. Even if that included waiting for a green to clear on a 400 yard par 4 (into the wind) before teeing up. When we reached the second tee box, we saw 6 carts backed up. The pro shop booked a tee time for 4:08 for a group of non-league players, and when the league guys had an issue with it, as they should have, the pro shop made the decision to shotgun them off of 2 and create an even bigger log jam- just outside of view from the pro shop and parking lot. Tee boxes were like hitting out of deep rough, not maintained and full of divot spot that leave many tee boxes hard to use. Charging upwards of $60 on the weekends at this place is a joke.
Little Myth
Never played a par 3 course before. Great for for fun and working on short game.
Slow play but nice layout
Pace was slow. Had to wait for cart before we could tee off. Wooden golf paths in rough shape. Course is beautiful. Lots of hills and water.
It's myth
The track has 2 huge problems. 1. The wooden bridges are barely safe for the destroyed carts... A little cash from vargo fixes this ... 2. The tee boxes especially, also greens and traps are a mess. Again, a bit of money fixes this too. My assumption is it's too short to be an elite course but it could be a little hidden gem if the ownership just gave a rip. It's been this way for a long time. Also, pace of play is horrible. You sell tee times but let anyone go off as soon as they arrive....

A Joke
if you haven't played here I wouldn't if you have I'm sorry you had to suffer. The tee boxes are the biggest thing for me they are so beat down on some holes (not even par 3's) you can't find a good chunk of flat grass to tee up on. I've seen driving ranges that have way better tee boxes. We had the ranger follow us for the first 4 holes to try to kick us off the course for them not communicating with each other because we had 3 carts for a 4 sum. the General Manager wanted us kicked off the course for it. The pace of play isn't maintained at all throughout any part of the course. If you play here expect a 4 1/2 to 5 hour round no matter how many people you have. The cheep prices might sound great but they run their course like its on the PGA tour. Safe to say I will never be back and you couldn't pay me to waste my time there every again.

Great course, slow pace of play
Great course layout, first time playing the course, was in great condition as well except for like two tee boxes. However, the pace of play was super slow, got behind a foursome family who was no good and ended up being near a 5 hour round of golf. 5 stars for overall rating. Highly recommend
