Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
About
The Myth Golf & Banquet, formerly known as Beaver Creek, tumbles across rolling hills. Situated next to Lake Orion, the golf course sits on protected land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including sandhill cranes. There is both an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole par-3 course. In 2007, when the Myth was established, several improvements were made to the championship layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The scenic golf course features boardwalk cart paths that cut through beautiful pine forests. Don't get too distracted by the scenery though because there is plenty to keep you busy including multi-tiered greens and water hazards on almost every hole. The 13th is the golf course's signature hole. This par 3 plays from an elevated tee over water to a generous green, offering a great opportunity for a birdie.

Hole 13, fun par 3 Photo submitted by Tait2dn on 05/09/2013
Tee boxes were in brutal shape
Tee boxes grass was so long. The grass was so long it was ridiculous… the wood stairs were more broke than my back. I rolled my ankle 2 times slipping on the wood. I’ll never be back
Worth a play through, but needs more improvements.
Today was my third time playing the myth. They’ve put in some work since the first time I played the course in 2019. In 2019 the course condition was rough. Specifically the boardwalk/cart paths were in terrible condition. Course was waterlogged (can’t be too upset at that because of heavy rains a day or so before.) There we’re other issues with the course conditions as well but they’ve been putting in a lot of work bringing it back to life and it’s noticeable. The only complaints I have on the conditions today was that quite a few of the ball-wash stations were left bone dry, some tee boxes were moved (one due to bees, which I’m actually glad the staff took the time to reroute players for that, but still a bummer that it was closed and one or two others were moved for unseen reasons.) The staff is pretty awesome which to me makes the experience much more enjoyable. Overall the course was a lot of fun today. Minor inconveniences which can be looked past because of the staff being great. Play speed was an issue because of a large outing first thing this morning. Ranger could have put a little more pressure on a couple of the threesomes/foursomes that were spending more time gabbing and bs’ing than taking their swings and keeping things rolling. But like I said, minor inconvenience that can be looked past. Fun course, challenging, and with the work they’re putting in on fixing some things up, it can only get better from here.
Good value and Layout
I like to play here a couple times a year. Usually not too busy and I like the way was cut out of a forest. The course conditions vary. Allot of the cart paths need help and some of the fairways and rough do too. If you go slow and are careful on these areas you will be fine but I wish they could start doing one hole at a time to see if they could make it better. All and all it is an interesting setup and fun to play though.
Little Myth
My daughter and I have golfed here pretty often over the last couple of years. It's a fun course to play for a quick 9 holes that can be easily walked and played by young players. On longer courses, we played a scramble format where she would pickup her ball and move it to where I was, but on this course, she can just play the holes as is and do it quickly enough to not slow down golf for others.
Staff is friendly, clubhouse is pretty nice, and the course is well enough maintained that I can't really complain.
We appreciate the review. You rated us 3-stars which means there is room to improve on your recent experience at Myth Golf & Banquet - Little Myth Par-3. Let us know, in the comments, how and where you would like to see changes from the course. Thanks for the feedback!
Mythical
Course hole layout greens cart paths all great. Tee boxes uneven on a number of holes. Signs at tee boxes showing distance from tee colors either broken or missing.
No need for a driver
Should have left my driver home, as it only gets you in trouble on this course. 200-240yds is the max you want to go off any tee box. Once I figured that out, I played much better. Course was in good shape, one bad group slowed pace though. One guy was too busy taking phone calls instead of swinging clubs.

Good for practicing short game
Good quick course for practicing your short game. Tee boxes were a bit torn up but not unplayable. Priced right.
Nice course - manager is a piece of work
Pre-paid for a 5:20 tee time and teed off in great weather. Course was in great shape and pretty open. Got caught in a 20 minute storm on hole 4 but course drained well so was surprised to be kicked off the course before we teed off on 5. Were told there was too much water on the course but Twin Lakes, Blackheath and Sylvan Glen all had play going on when I passed them on the way home. No raincheck offered -I didn't even ask after being accused of teeing off without being given the "all clear" from the manager who I never met before she stormed out of the clubhouse to scold us as we came off the course. No apology offered once it was clear we weren't the group she thought. Whole staff was terrified of her. She also called herself the "general manager" which was kind of funny. I won't go back, which is too bad because the course was nice and staff was friendly except the terrible manager. I guess she was hoping the Buick Open would call to reserve the course so we couldn't be hacking up a damp fairway. Get rid of the manager and this place would be great!

Great course
Always love playing here. A gold mine for finding golf balls. Not very long but unique and challenging holes. Hole 2 is tough, play it off the hill and roll it onto the green.
Great Par 3 course for practicing your short game
Little Myth is a great Par 3 course for practicing your short game. Staff was excellent, my friend dropped a cover to a club without realizing he did and someone from the staff drove up to return it.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Myth Golf & Banquet - Little Myth Par-3.
