Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
About
The Myth Golf & Banquet, formerly known as Beaver Creek, tumbles across rolling hills. Situated next to Lake Orion, the golf course sits on protected land that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including sandhill cranes. There is both an 18-hole championship course and a nine-hole par-3 course. In 2007, when the Myth was established, several improvements were made to the championship layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The scenic golf course features boardwalk cart paths that cut through beautiful pine forests. Don't get too distracted by the scenery though because there is plenty to keep you busy including multi-tiered greens and water hazards on almost every hole. The 13th is the golf course's signature hole. This par 3 plays from an elevated tee over water to a generous green, offering a great opportunity for a birdie.

Hole 13, fun par 3 Photo submitted by Tait2dn on 05/09/2013
The Myth
The Myth is a good course but not excellent. However, average players love this course.
Rough shape
The tee boxes were the worst I have seen there in a long time. You could not get a even stance off tee boxes and the pins were in impossible positions almost comical not unlike a putt putt course.
challenging course.
Narrow fairways and sloping greens make it a challenging course. Still a fun round of golf. Good mix of par 3s, 4s and a few 5s. Definitely get to use your driver a lot on this course. Only complaint would be that the yardage on the score card did not match up with the yardage marked on the signs at the tee boxes.
Great Course, bad trails
The course was in very good conditions based on the dry weather of the past few weeks. They need to replace their wooden pathways to make it great, but for the price, Excellent
Needs some work
Tight course with too many blind shots. Yardages from tees are not accurate. One blind shot the gray tee was moved 125 yards forward on a dog leg blind shot. Yardage showed the tee to green was 277 yds. It was actually 150. It was our 1st time playing the course. I played a driver and was 75 yards too long and a lost ball.
surprises on every hole
Conditions where very good. Better course map would help. Greens are a challenge
Good course great value
For the price I paid I was very happy. That was the best value i have encountered in this area.
A fun course
I play this course often, the woods make most tee shots challenging. You don't want to spray the ball off the tee box.
It took 4.5 hours to play 12 holes....
It took 4.5 hours to play 12 holes....and then we decided to walk out. And we were just 2 players.
I have played this course before but this time something was majorly wrong. Not sure if it was the scheduling by the staff or what.
On hole no. 3 had to wait for 35 minutes to tee off.
Marshalls were seen all around but none of these kids helped in increasing the pace of play.
Total waste of time and money on this round.
Fun but tough course
Front nine isn't too bad but the back nine - the last 7 in particular - are very tough...bring extra balls and put the driver away. Greens in pretty good condition although as with most public courses, ball marks are not repaired. A lot of swampy trees and wood cart paths but the rickety cart paths add to the charm of the course. Handicapped seniors should avoid as some tee boxes involve unstable stairs.
Good value
Played 18 with a cart for $28, which is a good rate for the area. The course is in descent condition. The green on #13 desperately needs to be raised. It's a great par 3 protected by water all along the front, but the green is just about at water level and is very water logged. The wood bridges that run between most holes also need to be replaced. They are terribly warped and look on the berg of collapse. The rest of the course is in good condition. It's a challenging course with a good layout.
myth
They were repaveing the path way. Other pathway is like diving Mario cart on wooden boards that go up down, left, and right. Course was good. Had one bad golfer behind us and we were behind someone else, he cut in front of us and skipped a hole. He was rude. Would go back again
Good Value, Decent Course
My buddy and I played this course for the first time on a Sunday morning in early October. Pace of play was excellent, and for the money we got good value. The main complaint I would have is that the teeboxes were in poor condition (could be a result of it simply being the end of the season).
Nice course
Got a very good deal on this course. Forgot it used to be beaver creek. Fairways and greens good. Tee boxes need work badly. Had fun though. You need to put the driver in your bag on a few holes.
Fun and picturesque course
The course is well maintained and features 18 holes that are unique and picturesque. The ride from green to tee on most holes is interesting due to the boardwalks and travel through the woods. I would definitely play it again.
Greens are challenge!
Course was not to be judged by scorecard. Longest 6,300 yd course I ever played! Greens were the toughfest I can remember. Noticed from dew that greens were not cut that morning. We did not complain long. Can't see even staying on some of these greens if slick! Many were like they erupted out of the ground! Very challenging and a great course for the price.
Very nice course
The place is easily accessible. The club house is very nice and clean. The staff is cordial and friendly. The fairways and Ts are well maintained. The cart paths are clean and well maintained, Directions for the next holes are clearly marked and easy to find. There are several ponds and brushes which can be challenging.
Beautiful course with sneaky challenges.
My wife and I are very casual golfers, so this was a pretty challenging course for us. It is beautiful and pretty well maintained. The fairways are very nice and the rough can be challenging. We enjoyed the Par 3 hole that is on a peninsula, that was challenging, and the par 5's were fun, too. The staff was great and we played at a pace that was comfortable for us, with a foursome in front of us and a couple behind us. We had a great time and would recommend this course to others.
