Devil's Ridge Golf Club

Course was in great shape but there are some holes that are a little too quirky for my liking. #10 & #12 are ridiculous uphill tee shots that I could do without. Unless you know where to aim, you could easily hit a good tee shot and lose your ball. If golfnow offers a cheap hotdeal, I'd consider playing there more often otherwise I'd rather go to nearby Metamora or Boulder Pointe

i can see why they call thisi course devils ridge. #10, 11 and 12 r some very interested holes. the front plays fair but the back is really where the challenge is. greens were in excellent shape and rolling true. had a blast. would come back anyday and play this course.

The course was in great condition except that they were aerating and sanding the greens, but that's to be expected at this time of year. It was a great round.

The challenges are numerous and one should study the course before playing each hole.

Devils ridge... just the name it self is intimidating. This is a NICE facility, it's secluded yet just minutes off of M24 for easy access. Nice up to date club house and facilities, staff was really friendly, course was in beautiful shape and for the price you can get on here 100% recommend you trying it at least once! Hole #10 leaves me with nightmares, pending on the tees you play you have to hit an uphill 180 yard shot with some loft for it to land softly on the SMALL landing area in the fairway, then a 90* left to a green about 60-70 feet down into a valley, two clean iron shots and you're looking at a bird but anything strays off line and you're praying for a 6. Bring a camera, lots of nice elevated tee boxes showing you the beauty of the area you're in, fall time and you get some awesome colors in your backdrop. Pace of play was OK, 1-13 we we're crusing but they set off an outing on hole 13 at 1030am we had the first time of the day at 728am and ran right into the outing as a foursome. They did warn us about the outing once we got the the course but at the point it was far too late to play somewhere else so we just had to deal. Lots of denim and cellphone speakers in the outing but they seemed to be having fun and respecting the course, just not anyone else's time but I'll over look it this time and hope it doesn't happen next time!

Awesome course with nice elevation changes. Couple tricky holes. Great shape. Too many people on the course, nice day.

Course was in great shape. We heard the greens were in rough shape, no clue who would say that! Tees and greens in excellent shape. The only problem was the pace of play. Front nine 1:45, back nine 3:15. They started a modified shotgun outing on hole six that we caught at the turn. I get that they left a gap of 5 holes between us, but that only works if we would have teed off at the same time! They didn't start until 30 minutes after we started, so on 4 tee we had like 8 groups headed out in front of us...c'mon man! Back 9 was a nightmare. I realize we got a great deal so can' t complain much, but if a deal looks to good to be true, it probably is! Great course, well maintained, nice staff, including bev cart service, just a bad tee running decision.

Nice course and challenging, waited too long on every hole. 5.5 hours to play 18. Course torn up. Greens need repair. Scenic.

Course was fantastic. Greens fairways and tee boxes were immaculate. Excellent course layout. Finished round in 4 hours playing in a foursome. Highly recommended for anyone who is in the area. Excellent deal on Golf Now!

While I don't want to make this course more crowded--part of its charm is the price and its isolation at the end of a dirt road, in the woods, beautiful course--I have to be honest: I have played most of the courses in the area, and this is my favorite and a great bargain. Course is in great shape and very challenging, staff is excellent, and the pace tends to be decent. Top tier.

Staff extremely friendly, course in very good shape, food good value and very good.

The course was in very good condition and the pace of play was fast, just how we like it. My only complaint would be with the grounds crew who were constantly in the way, driving right in front of us as we were about to hit several times and paying no attention to the golfers. Usually the grounds crew will turn off their mowers or move out of the fairway as your hitting, not these guys!! Very strange!! But nonetheless, the course was in awesome condition and the staff is excellent

This was my first time playing this course, and when my girlfriend's father asked if I wanted to golf, I said sure! I consider myself to be a "less than average" golfer, typically just going out and hitting the ball with a few friends, etc. What a great course this is in northern Oakland county! Picturesque views on most of the front nine, challenges at every turn, etc. The course conditions themselves were absolutely astounding, comparable to many of the courses one would find up north! Accurate tee shots, irons, and approaches are required on this course. Some holes are a cakewalk while others are a very big challenge! I loved the layout, Golf sometimes ends up with you hitting blindly around a dog-log, so be it! Pace of play was solid, 4 hours for 18 in a threesome. Overall, extremely satisfied and will be back again!

Devil's Ridge is a great course and is in great shape from tee to green. I really enjoy this golf course. Only a few holes are really challenging and the rest are very fair. If you have not played here before, your missing out on a gem!.

Playing at Devil's Ridge for the 3rd time this summer, the layout and design of this course continue to draw me back. Although several holes are not traditionally layed out, this course stresses accurate tee shots and creative approache shots, making it both challenging and fun. The true reason that this course stands out to me, though, is that the greens are large, fast, and smooth. Although I do like courses that boast long straight par 4s allowing the driver to be tee'd up more regularly, this course encourages accurate iron shots, which can't hurt any golfer. My overall pace of play was just under 4 hours for 18, the food was good, and the staff was exceptional. No complaints.

Great course. Could not have been a better experience. Staff was great. Loaded clubs right from the trunk of the car. Didn't have to do a thing. They were even cleaned before i teed off. Starter was very friendly and informative. Had a wonderful time. Course looked and played nice. Great value for my money. Best course in North Oakland county for my opinion.

I am puzzled as to how this course has received so many positive reviews. The best I can figure is that most of the reviews on here are from high handicappers who go out to enjoy beer and lose 3 sleeves. I played here twice and I will NEVER play here again. The second time I only played here because a client of mine wanted to play it. I LIVE in Oxford so distance is not a factor for me. The layout is just awful. Who wants to hit a 7 iron off the tee? I mean seriously, this course is ridiculous. Most of the time you basically just have to guess because you are hitting over a hill to a narrow dogleg. I actually shot decent score and hated every minute of it. You rarely get to have a reward of seeing your well hit shot land in the fairway because the landing area is usually out of sight. You never get to hit driver (except hole #1) and you are constantly questioning where to hit the ball. The funny part is that ALL (literally all, with no exceptions) of the golfers that I have talked to have the same opinion of this course which is why it is so curious that this place gets such good reviews here. It is a ridiculous layout but it is pretty and in great shape.

It took me way too long to write this review. Played here in early May with my dad/brother-in-laws...It was the first time for all of us and we all loved it.

I heard going in that it is a course the takes some strategy and targeted shots so I was prepared for that. Definitely didn't use the driver as much as other courses I have played. It can make for a long round if you aren't using a range finder.

The course truly reminded me of up-north golf. A lot of undulation in the fairways. Every hole is different and offers a great challenge. I also liked how each hole has a name.

We were very fortunate to have awesome weather and a poor weather forecast, so the course wasn't packed. Made for a great pace of play (18 holes in about 4 hours, despite my errant shots).

I won't go hole-by-hole and describe them. This course is awesome. Course conditions from tee boxes to greens were fantastic. You need to play here/ Be prepared to have to think and make some targeted shots. I will be back to play again, and so will you.
