Great fairways and greens
Course was in great shape pace of play was excellent
Bad bunkers
The course was in good shape except the bunkers were not taken care of very well. This does seem pretty much standard for most coursed now a days. I enjoyed the course. They were air eating the tee boxes but I would not hold that against the course. Staff in clubhouse not too friendly but the starter are great. The golf carts are too small to hole a larger bag. I suppose a small stand bag would be ok. But my Bag Boy Bag fell off once and I had to keep adjusting the strap. Not sure if I would go again because there is a lot of walking (climbing) from the cart to the tee box. This is not a negative against the course. The wooden steps to get to the tee box need to be replace. The greens and fairway are good.
Great Track
Totally enjoyed our round. Got off ahead of schedule and only had to wait for a couple of minutes as the round went on. Greens were in good shape and putts were quick, as they should be. I little tight with shots from other fairways, but would definitely return.
Fun golf course. Horrible staff
Had a 12:34 tee time. When we arrived there was no one there to help us with our clubs or a cart. We checked in and the guy at the counter was rude for no reason. Like we were not a welcomed group or something. We had to wait on every shot for the entire front nine. The beverage cart didn't have food on it and extremely overpriced drinks. At the turn we stopped in the clubhouse to get a hotdog and used the restroom. After we returned to the 10th. The starter began yelling at us about taking 20 minutes in the clubhouse. And I mean literally yelling. I explained to him that it was impossible to take 20 minutes to get a hot dog and come back out. I also didn't appreciate being yelled at and told that we were holding everyone up seeing that the group ahead of us had just made it to the 10th green and we had waited on every hole. I explained to him these points and he continued to curse and yell at me. Then I also reminded him that his job was to be a customer service provider and be happy to have golfers out there like us paying to play the course and spend money on f&b or else he wouldn't have said position. He then walked towards me aggressively and began cursing about how we were the reason the course was so backed up. (Not the 240 Roy da they had that day but us). I am also a golf professional from Orlando. I take customer relations seriously and this was by far the most disgusting operation I have ever experienced. If anyone had done this at my course they would have been terminated immediately. The course was in great shape and the only upside to our experience was the very nice beverage cart girl who saw the whole thing and apologized. I'll play again but would really like to not be treated more like a customer and less like I don't know. A mirder suspect??
always fun
Played there in July with all the hot weather and not much rain this year I was expecting the course to be dry but it wasn't course in great shape greens firm but you could hold them. pace got slow after about 12 holes they need to do a better job getting these golfers moving other than that everything good will play a few more times this year.
Great value
They book the tee times way too close, which can cause a backup on the course, and regularly does. I think they book them 4 minutes apart. Should be 6 at the least, anywhere.
The staff is ALWAYS friendly. I do like the layout and feel the course is very playable and fair.
Great course. Terrible pace
My tee time was 724 am on a Tuesday morning. There was already a wait on the first hole. Everyone was forced to go off on hole 10 and was backed up right away. The pace stayed slow till hole 12. I blame the starter/management for too tight of tee times or not staggering between hole 1 & 10. Other than that the course was in great shape for such a dry summer.
Slowest play ever
Do not play here on weekends. Slowest play ever experienced. So overbooked there wasn't enough carts. Finally got to 1st hole and 7 carts lined up. Quit after 4 holes and a couple hours. This happened twice now and will never go back. They book tee times every 6 minutes and just load the place up. No course management to keep the slow players moving. Fairways aren't bad but the greens are a mess. Full of ball marks, slow, and haven't been rolled all season would be my impression.
Blackheath Review
I played on Sunday, July 10th in the afternoon and our tee time was delayed 40 minutes due to an outing that didn't finish on time. They were out of carts. And, after we got started the pace was very slow which was surprising since we had a 40 minute delay to start.
Great Value Great Greens
Fun layout challenging but fair. Greens rolled great and held approaches despite overall dry conditions due to our lack of rain. Super price. Leaving some money on the table with minimal food and drink. Staff is friendly and helpful. We will go back!
LONG Day
Nice course...just FAR too slow. Had 3 groups quit on back nine due to waiting. STILL took 5-1/2 hrs to play! Too bad they didn't seem to care. Tee times are 6 minutes apart.
Great course
Beatifully maintained course, cant go wrong for $25 for 18 on the weekend.
Great course poor management
This course plays 5-5.25 hours every nice day. I love the course but they are always backed up due to poor coordination at the first tee
Tee Time Backups
I enjoy playing this course. We arrived on time and found three groups ahead of us on the first tee. We ha a good 20 minute delay. Our booked tee time was 12:06. We talked to the three some in front of us and two players were supposed to be with us at 12:06, but joined a single that had a 12:00 tee time. That's six minutes!! 12:00 to 12:06. Six minutes between groups is not enough. I''ve heard this is their standard. I will not go back.
Good conditions. Pace was a little slow
Course was in good shape, well maintained. Was backed up from the start. Arrived early for tee time and still had to wait 15 or so minutes to tee off. In all it took an extra 45 minutes for the entire round.
Good value for the price
For $30, this course is a good value. This is the only links style course I'm aware in metro Detroit. I did enjoy the layout. Average conditions. Greens could be tricky.
Great condition
Course was in great condition, greens were fast, good course to score low on.
Great course for a good value
It was nice booking from golfnow.com we enjoyed the nice day, greens and fairways were prepped sufficiently (with the exception of geese droppings every once in a while.) We were not rushed or delayed by the groups around us so the pace of play was pleasant, will definitely come back after playing here for the first time!
Beautiful April Day
Love this links-style course. In the Spring time the heather is cut short and the course plays easier. I have only played the front 9 but have heard the back 9 is awesome. Course always plays well, challenging greens especially on a hot day the ball can really take off on you.
Decent Course
The course was in good condition and had a great day. The clubhouse was a real let down. Wanted to go in after the round and have a beer and watch some college football. Went into the clubhouse and there wasn't a single TV on with any game and the clubhouse was absolutely bare.
