Great Value Great Greens
Fun layout challenging but fair. Greens rolled great and held approaches despite overall dry conditions due to our lack of rain. Super price. Leaving some money on the table with minimal food and drink. Staff is friendly and helpful. We will go back!
LONG Day
Nice course...just FAR too slow. Had 3 groups quit on back nine due to waiting. STILL took 5-1/2 hrs to play! Too bad they didn't seem to care. Tee times are 6 minutes apart.
Great course
Beatifully maintained course, cant go wrong for $25 for 18 on the weekend.
Great course poor management
This course plays 5-5.25 hours every nice day. I love the course but they are always backed up due to poor coordination at the first tee
Tee Time Backups
I enjoy playing this course. We arrived on time and found three groups ahead of us on the first tee. We ha a good 20 minute delay. Our booked tee time was 12:06. We talked to the three some in front of us and two players were supposed to be with us at 12:06, but joined a single that had a 12:00 tee time. That's six minutes!! 12:00 to 12:06. Six minutes between groups is not enough. I''ve heard this is their standard. I will not go back.
Good conditions. Pace was a little slow
Course was in good shape, well maintained. Was backed up from the start. Arrived early for tee time and still had to wait 15 or so minutes to tee off. In all it took an extra 45 minutes for the entire round.
Good value for the price
For $30, this course is a good value. This is the only links style course I'm aware in metro Detroit. I did enjoy the layout. Average conditions. Greens could be tricky.
Great condition
Course was in great condition, greens were fast, good course to score low on.
Great course for a good value
It was nice booking from golfnow.com we enjoyed the nice day, greens and fairways were prepped sufficiently (with the exception of geese droppings every once in a while.) We were not rushed or delayed by the groups around us so the pace of play was pleasant, will definitely come back after playing here for the first time!
Beautiful April Day
Love this links-style course. In the Spring time the heather is cut short and the course plays easier. I have only played the front 9 but have heard the back 9 is awesome. Course always plays well, challenging greens especially on a hot day the ball can really take off on you.
Decent Course
The course was in good condition and had a great day. The clubhouse was a real let down. Wanted to go in after the round and have a beer and watch some college football. Went into the clubhouse and there wasn't a single TV on with any game and the clubhouse was absolutely bare.
Good Experience
Overall I go to play golf! If the course is in good shape and the cart gets me through a round I'm happy. Blackheath does that. No thrills but nice greens with lots off break. Putt well and you score.
my taughts !
Course was in great shape. Greens were fast but fair.
Weather was less than ideal, but its that time of year.
Great Course
Played this course for the very first time. Great golf course. Conditions were top notch for the price they charge. I recommend this course to anyone. Friendly staff and very accomodating because we were a little late.
Slow Play
If you don't mind a 6 hour round of golf this course is for you. They had us start on hole number 10 and when we made the turn they were starting groups on hole number 1. We had to wait for everyone in front of us. Marshals are on the course but don't enforce pace of play. Too bad because the golf course is decent.
True Scottish Feel
This golf course is amazing. It felt like I was playing true golf in Scotland. The course is set up wide open, there isn't a tree on the premises. It's also set up to play the bump and run, or even putting through hills, just like links golf. Bunkers are deep and fun to get out of. Bring a case of golf balls though. If you miss fairways, it's tough to find your ball in the long grass (again, true Scottish golf). If you want a true test of links golf, play this course on a windy day like I did. It brings a true Socttish feel. Definitely will play again!!
OK but...
The course was in good shape but a bit dry and hard. We got off on time but were behind an outing so play was a bit slow. We never saw the beverage cart on the back 9 and in the 90 degree heat that was a bit disappointing.
Great Value--Need Better Beer!
Good course, challenging but not punishing. Very well kept, excellent greens. Pace of play was fine, not sure what the complaints are about--we played in 4 hours. Only major complaint is that the beer cart has lousy beer--let's get some Michigan beers out on these Michigan courses!!
Timing is everything
Do not golf here on a weekend, way overbooked and unorganized. Nice course, pretty fun layout.
