Bruce Hills Golf Club
About
Bruce Hills Golf Course is located in the north metro Detroit area near Romeo. Mature trees are scattered throughout the course, providing shade and a peacefully secluded feel. The par-70 layout is relatively short at only 5,630 yards form the back tees, making it an ideal round for beginners but it still provides good practice and a quick round for more advanced players. The golf course sprawls across a diverse terrain that allows for downhill and uphill approaches to the small, round greens, which are often sloped from back to front. Keeping the ball below the hole is the key to scoring well on this golf course. Bruce Hills' player-friendly layout only has four bunkers but water comes into play on 12 holes, providing the bulk of the course's challenges.

A short but interesting course
Surprised that there were not that many players on the course for a perfect weather Friday.. Finished in about 3-1/2 hours. The ground was a bit hard so there was some bouncing of the club head on some shots, but overall very playable.
Absolute WORST Golf Club EVER
This is by far the worst golf club I’ve ever been to. It was our first time there and there were no signs or starters directing traffic. Had to ask the cart lady where hole number 1 was. Hole number 1 had 4 people waiting and 4 others on the tee box already about to tee off. After waiting 15 minutes for the first group then the second group to finish (the hole was a short par 4 that was driveable so had to wait until the group was done) we finally were up. As we’re walking up to the green we can see all 8 people waiting in line to tee off for the second hole. You have to be kidding. We finish Hole 1 and sit and wait to tee off. 25 minutes go by and the second group finally finishes teeing off. At this point we just leave and take the 18th hole back to the clubhouse. As we pull up to the clubhouse there’s another 16 people waiting on the tee box at the 10th hole while there was only one group of 4 on the first hole. This course has no business having tee times. They honestly don’t care. The group of 16 on the 10th was a part of a league and they said this course mixes tee times and league all the time. That’s why it’s so congested all the time and with no starter there’s no organization at all. 30 minutes to play one hole. Absolutely ridiculous. Getting my money back from my CC. Only people that should be playing here are the leagues and the locals. Anyone trying to find new courses to play should avoid this course at all cost. It’ll ruin your whole golfing journey.
Great Pace of play
Greens were excellent. Not crazy about the course layout. Many holes forced you to lay up.
Very slow pace.
We were twosome and wanted to have a relaxing 18 holes. Every hole was a wait and backed up. The cart paths were in dire need of repair. Greens were in great condition. I question the layout of this course as we constantly had balls coming our way. Having a Teebox right behind a par three green seemed questionable.
Busy with no help
I was a single player and the three young gentlemen in front of had no etiquette. Not a ranger in sight to help speed up play. Really nice course. I paid for 18 and left after 9 as I was not interested in another 9 with no rhythm. Would like to play the course again when it's slower as I enjoyed it years ago when I played.
