Stony Creek Golf Course

About
Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren't any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek's par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny "postage stamp" green.

Overall a nice course
I enjoy playing Stoney Creek. That being said they have the worst tee box in Macomb County on the 17th hole. It is nothing more than a dirt pile with the occasional grass patch. They need to trim the trees around the box, then maybe grass will grow.
The course, other than the 17th tee box, was in good shape. There were signs of off season work that was done, but that will improve as time goes on. The greens seemed to run true.
Go play
Nice course great layout, green was fast even with the rain a couple days ago. Bring range finder .
Will play again definitely
Don't forget to add the metro park fee in. Make sure you bring an extra 10 bucks
Nice layout
I like playing at Stoney Creek golf course,
Love the layout
Stoney Creek Slipping
The Stoney Creek Metro Park is a great park to visit, walk, run, bike and play. The golf course is fairly easy with wide open fairways. Although I enjoy the course many of the tee boxes are in bad shape. Especially so on holes, 4,11, and 17. The greens are decent but many golfers apparently do NOT repair their ball marks.
Only problem was the ranger was letting multiple individual players out instead of partnering players.
Nice course for the money. Senior rate $30 on GolfNow
Decent course. I okay here 3-4 times a year due to proximity to my house. As a new senior (for some golf courses) I only paid $30 on GolfNow. Went out as a single. Met some really nice people and enjoyed my round, except the numerous 3 putts and shooting a 92 from the blue tees. So-so condition but the greens were nice. Normally a medium speed but this round they were quick. Overall great value.
Excellent course,hands down underrated
Great layout & conditions.wouldnt hurt for a stealthy ranger to stroll around as I've seen some teenagers play the tips there 😳 (hilarious until you watch them hit and fall behind pace rapidly)
There is no pace of play
They overbook and don’t enforce pace. Took 5.5 hours for about 15 holes I didn’t even finish. Other players are rude and stink up the place with slow play. The greens are ok on some holes and atrocious on others. The sand traps are mud pits
Very basic
They broke one record: I have got the oldest gas cart in Michigan. Other than that it is OK, but not if you have to drive more than 5 miles. Do not forget to add 10$ for the daypass of the Park.
Course in great condition. Enjoyed the trees and layout of the fairways. Look forward to next time out! Typical bar/grill but we did not stop for lunch. Course located in metropark setting so walking trails and beach available if interested after golf
