Beautiful setting
We had a great time playing this beautiful course. It was a busy day so the speed of play was slow but the scenery provided by the lakes and the great shape of the course made the slow play tolerable. Staff was very friendly. Would have been nice if they were still selling hotdogs at the turn. On such a busy day I'm sure they would have sold a lot and 3 pm is pretty early to stop making hotdogs on a holiday. We will definitely make playing this challenging course a habit.
Nice course close to metro area
The course was in great shape from tee to green. Having only two sets of tees made for some challenging holes if you are not a big hitter. Yardages are not well marked (have major yardage markers in the fairway and on the cart path but difficult to see and find). Course management was lacking (did not see a ranger until the 16th hole). Although we played 18 in 4 1/4 hours, we waited on every tee shot and most second/third shots. Would recommend if you have never played before but I probably won't play a second time.
Greens are so true at 6pm!
it was a busy post league round so we expected the slower pace for sure.
Guy in the shop was a bit flustered with the amount of people in the shop, looks like he was checking golfers in and slinging hot dogs and filling beers etc. could have used some help but he had a good attitude about it.
Good mix of holes on the back nine, not too tricked out but some doglegs and tee shots you had to think about. Can't say too many good things about the greens. Good job superintendent.
No Elevation changes
Pretty straight forward with a few holes that have moderate carry over hazards. Nice greens with opportunities to score if you hit greens in reg.. Played as a single so catching groups out in front was bound to happen. Passed two courteous groups but finally settled in behind a threesome and took my time. Walking is a option because it is so flat.
Great course!
My brother and I really enjoyed ourselves!!!
Staff was excellent!!!
Course was great!! Maybe a little tight on some holes, but would play it again in a heart beat!
Beautiful surroundings except for the traffic on the 2 roads on a couple of holes.
Enjoyed My First Round At Bay Pointe
I've driven by this course many times and my opportunity to play here this week arrived. Hot deal made it very affordable. Course was a bit wet in spots but really in great shape for the end of March in Michigan. Staff was very friendly plus they provide free range balls for practice just steps from the Pro Shop. I look forward to playing here again when everything has grown in and the weather is warmer.
Great Course
I have played Bay Pointe on several different occasions and times and the course has always been in great shape. For it to be November in Michigan and still golfing was enough for me. However the pace of play was very slow. I teed off at 1:15 and could only complete 9 holes. The course was very understanding and gave us rain checks for the back 9. I though that was very nice of them. Great staff and food.
Nice course
Nice course, pretty views of lake. A bit noisy on back, with two road frontages. Pace ok. Glad to have played it, doubt I would drive an hour to play it again. Staff was very friendly, food good. Price was very fair.
Nice Course
Everything went well and was nice.
Would be nice to see additional tees for seniors to get the yardage down to 5700 or 5800.
There was 4 long par 4's that were tough to get to in 2.
Bay Pointe Golf Course
Nice course for a somewhat challenging game. Convenient practice range as well as putting range.
The coupon had a short timer to use. I managed to play but I wished I had another day later in week where I could have used the coupon.
Thanks any way!
Overall good experience
A tad bit slow but it was mid day Saturday. Rangers could have helped. No cart girl.
Bay Pointe GC
We enjoyed this course even though it has a lot of water to contend with and it was our first time golfing here. It is in very good shape and wasn't overly crowded. I would play it again.
Love #6
Play was very slow as in 5 1/2 hours. No rangers and heavily booked I think. Course is in decent shape. Some good holes including #6 dog leg left with lake guarding entire left side and huge vegetation guarding right side. Food and beverage poor. No water on course. You have to buy it or BYO. Soft fairways so plays longer than you may expect. I would recommend the course and would play it again if the price is right.
Nice course
Very picturesque course. Fair amount of water and forced carries. Worth the trip.
NIce with Lakefront
Good Afternoon round on a beautiful day. Bird waste a bit of a challenge but the course is a good test of golf
Disappointed
course was extremely crowded. Need to do a better job of managing the pace of play and the number of golfer that are out. Very slow, no fun to much waiting couldn't establish a rythym. Never saw a ranger
Swamp!!
I live very close to Baypointe, and should have remembered that the day after a good rain, this course is one big puddle.....the water table is very high and even a sunny day after a rain will not dry it out!!
Also, this used to be a exclusive country club with huge facility's .....I suggest if your gonna play there, bring a Subway sub with you, as there is not one hot dog to be had at this course.....what a shame, the clubhouse on a lake could have a great patio restaurant
I realize my idea of a golf course is in the woods with quiet all around, this place has heavy traffic right over a 6 foot fence.....there's much nicer course in the area.....this place is going downhill fast
over booked
Little over booked. A lot of people crossing from one fairway to others. Tight. Beautiful playing along the water reminds me of Lake Tahoe. It is beautiful course.
The last course I played was Oakland Hills...
The course conditions here were much better than Oakland Hills!! I was very impressed! A great value!
long round
This is a nice course. Middle Straits Lake comes into play on several holes to provide some scenery and some challenge. The course is in good shape. They keep the rough long to make hitting fairways a premium and the greens are in pretty good shape. The grill at the turn, with quickly-available burgers, brats and kielbasa in addition to the standard hot dogs, is awesome. The pace of play is atrocious. 5.5 hours to play 18 holes after starting 25 minutes late. Tee times are only seven minutes apart. The starter was often hard to find (socializing with regulars over near the grill or in the clubhouse) as we tried to figure out who was were in the tee order, and a couple of foursomes jumped the line out of turn with nobody there to keep order. I'll be back but not on a weekend or holiday. Also, there are only two tees and the shortest one, around 5,150 yards, is clearly for women. No real give for men.
