Great Course
1st time here. Course was in incredible shape. The pricing was great for both golf and the amenities.
Nice Public Course
I like the course, but the pace of play was very slow. 5 hour round.
Good course
Open fairways. Some tall grass off the fairways that can be tough to find your ball in but it provides a good challenge. Good for price. Be prepared to bring an extra $10 to get into the Metropark.
Too backed up.
Played Kensington yesterday and a full round for two took 4:45! Seems like they don’t leave enough time between booked rounds; no marshal was going around to keep pace up.
The toughest aspect about Kensington is having to pay a park fee separately for entering the premises; when the entrance is simply 100 yards past the toll booth. You should simply be able to show booking and they should let you pass. Too much nickel and diming to enjoy fully.
Come for the golf stay for the critters
I love Kensington golf course. It’s perfect for players of all abilities. The true value add is the wildlife that will join you on your round. Typical forest friends include deer, raccoons, wild turkeys, and sandhill cranes. A word of caution the Sandhills have no fear of people and see golfers as a food source! They will literally steal food out of your golf cart…I lost a hot dog that way and I’m still bitter that he out smarted me!
Nice Course
I like the course - good layout and condition. But the play was slow as it took almost 5 hours to play. Never order the ham sandwich, it had 1 slim pice of ham on a stale English muffin.
Even after heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday the course was in good shape only a few wet spots on Thursday.
Slow slow slow
The pace of play was extremely slow and there didn’t appear to be anyone coming around to check. For that reason alone I’m hesitant to come back or recommend the course. Otherwise, the course was in good condition and it’s a forgiving course. My only other point is that the beverage cart on the course has no credit card reader - yes, the employee was literally typing in credit card numbers. Not only is this time consuming, their electronic system won’t accept tips, so then you have to find money. The club house employee said “yup, you’re not the first one to tell us that” (paraphrase). Seems no plans to actually come into the 21st century.
Best Metropark Course
Nice layout in good condition. Always a pleasure to play here.
Very Nice Course
Good test, great condition. Best Metropark course in Metro Detroit.
Birthday round 1
Would have rated the course condition higher but for two issues. Cart paths were horrible! And pin placement was not for general public, we are not pros!
Great except for some staff
Starter was an absolute crap a—. You couldn’t even talk to him without him biting your head off. Staff inside said at the turn, “oh you can’t order that to eat you, need to finish your round.” Really?!? Recommend some customer service training for the staff in how to properly talk and manage golfers relations.
