Cut your grass
Thought it was PGA week not US Open week, 6" off fairway and we were searching for golf balls!
Love Fred
Always a good time, sometimes the course is really slow but not today. Able to play 18 in 4 hrs. Greens in great shape for late March.
Tricked up pins
Great layout. Great contoured greens. Fairways perfect. Only the pin placements were disappointing. Most on mounds, or six feet from the fringe. Impossible to get close or putt on some holes.
Enjoyable round of golf
Well maintained fairways and greens. Nice variation between holes to keep it interesting. The staff is one of the friendliest in KC area.
Poor experience
Unfriendly, unhelpful staff. Didn’t even say
hello, didn’t tell us about the carts or anything about the golf course like where to go. No marshals on course. Waited a minimum of 5-10 minutes on every swing. Over crowded golf course. The cart didn’t have a scorecard & had trash in it before the round.. Just played 9 holes because it was that bad of an expirence. Only positive was the course was in good shape.
Abuse of authority
4 course Marshals we’re playing a round and decided to add a 5th at the turn. They backed up the play time so bad that 3 groups were waiting at the tee boxes. At hole 16 (par 3) they were just standing around laughing and joking so my group decided to skip the hole. We waived, they waived back, and setup to tee off on 17. After we shot, one of the marshals came over screaming “what are we doing”, “that we had no etiquette” and he could have us thrown off. Then they decided to shoot into our group. No one has answered any phone calls to address the issue. Absolutely awful.
Great track
Challenging layout. Fairways and geeens in great shape. Greens are difficult. Lots of false fronts. You can tell they roll he greens pretty often. Fun but very challenging for a hack like me. But I’ll be back.
Value for the money
The green fees were reasonable. The course was in very good shape. The greens were a little slow, but I think they had not mowed and were putting water on the greens during our play. This is a link style course and is forgiving . Some holes have a very nice view of Longview Lake.
Great Course Layout in really nice condition
Loved playing the links looking course, complete with the tall wispy rough.
Course was in excellent shape and the staff was very friendly
I will play again this year...several times and I highly recommend it!
Who took Jack's pants?
Played the tips as the white tees are just a bit short, so that added to the challenge, as there is a good bit of difference between the back two tees. But course was in very good shape, save for some burnt up spots running up to some greens, which adds difficulty to touch wedge shots, but the greens were tremendous and great to putt on. Do understand them letting the 2-3 foot high weeds grow, as without that, there is not really that much protecting the course for the most part-difficulty-wise, at least. Definitely wish more KC area courses were in this shape for early summer, but glad we went & played & look forward to returning!
Great condition and good staff
It was a hot one and the course was in good if not great condition. The staff was friendly though not overly available. Kind of like a country club, if you know what you're doing, help yourself.
Greens were in the best and fastest condition I have played them. Rolled true and the short grass helped with putting pace. It was nice that the practice green was representative of the speed of the actual greens.
The rest of the course was in fine shape too.
We tee'd at the just after Noon spot which can create pace of play problems, but none for us. As a twosome we zipped around the course in 3.30 and never had a wait. Could have played faster if my driver was not so erratic that day. It was hot so possibly traffic was down.
Layout is a fun track that definitely plays tougher from the blues for a long hitter. From the whites most trouble is carried & doesn't come into play. I used all my clubs, not just driver, short wedge over and over. Value is outstanding when using a discounted round. Average at regular prices.
Amenities were nice. Water cooler on almost every hole. Never found and empty one and have I mentioned it was hot. Nice clubhouse & 19th hole with good selection of beers. Many are tall boys and at reasonable prices. Cart girl must have found us 4-5 times, so never had an issue there.
Lousy round at a very good course in great condition. I had a good time.
Dependable Value
This popular links course in suburban Kansas City near Lee's Summit is a very fair track with generally wide fairways and consistent greens. It's walkable and the surrounding Longview Lake provides nice vistas from several holes. Check weekly specials for military and seniors and Golf Now for Hot Deals.
Good public course
Course was in good condition given the early spring weather. The Zoysia fairways had not greened up and the greens had just been aerated and sand dressed as usual for this time of year. Still, a fun afternoon on a course our gang really enjoys.
Course was fine for March
Course was still in winter mode and did not look to be greening up anytime soon. There were a lot of swampy places given how little rain we have had this spring. The price seemed a little expensive for March. It will be better come May and June.
The course was in very good shape for early March. the staff was excellent; the Starter has an excellent handle on managing and staggering the groups. The course was in excellent shape coupled with the sensational views of the lake. The course range was in full use and caters to all of the needs of golfers.
