About
Pohlcat Golf Club in Mount Pleasant has a winding layout that crosses the Chippewa River multiple times. The course sprawls across a diverse landscape that includes mature woodlands, rolling grassy meadows, and natural wetlands. It's a challenging layout with water coming into play on 14 holes and 56 bunkers strategically placed along the tree-lined fairways and greens. The tricky slopes and undulations on the greens, which can range from subtle to dramatic, add another challenging element to the golf course. The unique design goes back and forth between wooded holes and open, links-style holes, offering plenty of variety throughout. In addition to the golf course, there is also a practice facility available that includes a spacious grass range, two putting greens, and a short game area for putting and bunker practice.

No one in charge…. Slow
Groups in front of us had no business playing from the white tees. This group was never approached by management/ranger. 5 1/2 hours of getting stiff after every shot. This group was leaving their cart near the path as it shuts off FREQUENTLY. They must have thought it was cart path only ? Management should have noticed. They did not. There was no starter, there was no rangers. Payed 125.00 each and did not get what we paid for. I understand the 90 degree rule, so does the 24 men in our group, we golf. Pihlcat should have absolutely been monitoring play and did not. They failed me and my group, very disappointing end to a 5 day golf trip. You guys just left us out there to rot….
Not what I expected
Golf course staff were very friendly. Course is in good shape, but didn’t really suit my eye. I expected more based on the reviews. Perception of course might have been negatively impacted by two things. First was the golf cart GPS. It restricted you from random places on the course, including the cart path, and the annoying ads meant that you need to continue to push and swipe to get back to the hole yardage screen. Not a fan. Second and more importantly was pace of play. After hole 4 it was a 10 minute wait in every tee box and in the fairway. Ranger was nice enough, but didn’t seem to be doing anything to help.
Maintenance missing
I know it’s fall golf but if the course is open you should be maintaining it. Bunkers weren’t raked. Leaves weren’t blown off fairways. Even had a etiquette less worker delivering food to the high golf group behind us and didn’t even bother to wait until we teed off!

Excellent course. It was in great shape and the fall colors were vibrant.
Hate the Carts
I couldn't ask for a better course to play. The fairways are in excellent shape as well as the greens. My only complaint is the golf carts.
The golf carts do NOT provide sufficient warning before it disables the movement of the cart which then requires you back up a rediculous distance to make it operate normally. They really need to improve the GPS system so you have more warning. Really frustrating and slows down play.

Hate gps shutdown reverse ! Too tough for wife
Don’t get off cart paths gps will shut you down. Course good shape. 5000 yards long for senior women, put a disc in beginning of fairway to lower yardage. She won’t come back.
Foliage was nice and you wouldn’t know the greens were aeirated .
Played for less than $50 for both of us on TeeOff , good value there for hour and half drive each way
Marshall was useless
While I like the course, the Marshall needs to be replaced. Back nine was wait on every hole with a few holes having 3-4 groups on a hole. The Marshall drove around but did nothing concerning the slow pace. Disappointing
Golf Cart Issues
Why are the golf carts have such a tight tolerance when you exit the cart path. Instead of notifying you in advance it justs stops. Then you have the tedeous task of backing up to get back near the cart path. I understand that they are protecting the course conditions but an advanced notice would allow us to turn around rather than going in reverse for a long time.
