About
Pohlcat Golf Club in Mount Pleasant has a winding layout that crosses the Chippewa River multiple times. The course sprawls across a diverse landscape that includes mature woodlands, rolling grassy meadows, and natural wetlands. It's a challenging layout with water coming into play on 14 holes and 56 bunkers strategically placed along the tree-lined fairways and greens. The tricky slopes and undulations on the greens, which can range from subtle to dramatic, add another challenging element to the golf course. The unique design goes back and forth between wooded holes and open, links-style holes, offering plenty of variety throughout. In addition to the golf course, there is also a practice facility available that includes a spacious grass range, two putting greens, and a short game area for putting and bunker practice.

Beautiful course
The course was in great shape, the staff was really friendly and we even saw a momma deer and a couple fawns. It was a good day!

Great course, but meh!

Currently playing the course and have been stuck behind a foursome of seniors for over 9 holes. My intention is never to stand outside of my cart with my hand on my hip, staring for groups with more people to speed up, but it is certainly noticeable when the signs are clear that a group should wave you through. A two-some and a threesome did so within the first 3 or 4 holes. There is no one ahead of them, so it’s not as though they too are waiting. The ranger twice spotted me stuck behind them waiting, and not once did he address it with them. He came to me and asked about pace of play and then went on explaining every reason as to why they aren’t letting me through, how they aren’t looking for balls, and why I should just “deal with it for 5 more holes.” No one’s fault about how old they are or their golf ability. Unfortunate response. I’ve been playing here for 25+ years, and am not sure I’m willing to travel here again to have “deal” with things that include one of the rangers whole objective to ranging -pace of play & etiquette. Love the layout. Course is in great shape.

Not worth $94
Course is in decent condition, but nothing special enough to warrant the $94 price tag. The GPS system on the carts is awful. The Pohlcat is better suited as a local $35 golf league course.

Highly recommend - great value
We got to meet Dan Pohl - super-nice guy. He took some photos and signed some things for us. Super staff - pro shop, grill room, beverage cart - everyone went out of their way to make sure we were completely satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed our day. The course was in very good condition, especially with all the rain recently. The course presented some challenges and some unique holes, but it was very playable if you chose the tees that best suited your game, which we were all able to do. Carts had GPS, which was very helpful when deciding whether to lay up or try to carry a hazard. Note that #9 does not come back to the clubhouse, but the beverage cart visited often and was very helpful. All around, a great experience and a GREAT VALUE.

Beautiful course and friendly staff. It is one of my favorIte courses! I took a friend who has never golfed Pohlcat,,.she loved it! It was great to see a beverage cart person on the course...she did an excellent job of making the rounds...saw her 4 times!
Always a challenge
Played on a Friday @3:30 and had the course to ourselves, oddly. Can normally offer a frustrating pace at times but a Ranger is almost always out and helpful. Course is in great shape, very fast greens!!

Love it
Course was in really good condition for mid April. Got a great $37 hot deal for me and my wife. Love the challenge of Pohlcat, usually a few holes are rough on me but can get it back on the back 9. Probably the most comfy golf cart seats and very accurate GPS. Staff was super friendly. Love that you can find an affordable deal throughout the summer when other championship courses are too costly. Thanks!

Opening day and perfect
