PohlCat Golf Course

Currently playing the course and have been stuck behind a foursome of seniors for over 9 holes. My intention is never to stand outside of my cart with my hand on my hip, staring for groups with more people to speed up, but it is certainly noticeable when the signs are clear that a group should wave you through. A two-some and a threesome did so within the first 3 or 4 holes. There is no one ahead of them, so it’s not as though they too are waiting. The ranger twice spotted me stuck behind them waiting, and not once did he address it with them. He came to me and asked about pace of play and then went on explaining every reason as to why they aren’t letting me through, how they aren’t looking for balls, and why I should just “deal with it for 5 more holes.” No one’s fault about how old they are or their golf ability. Unfortunate response. I’ve been playing here for 25+ years, and am not sure I’m willing to travel here again to have “deal” with things that include one of the rangers whole objective to ranging -pace of play & etiquette. Love the layout. Course is in great shape.

Course is in decent condition, but nothing special enough to warrant the $94 price tag. The GPS system on the carts is awful. The Pohlcat is better suited as a local $35 golf league course.

We got to meet Dan Pohl - super-nice guy. He took some photos and signed some things for us. Super staff - pro shop, grill room, beverage cart - everyone went out of their way to make sure we were completely satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed our day. The course was in very good condition, especially with all the rain recently. The course presented some challenges and some unique holes, but it was very playable if you chose the tees that best suited your game, which we were all able to do. Carts had GPS, which was very helpful when deciding whether to lay up or try to carry a hazard. Note that #9 does not come back to the clubhouse, but the beverage cart visited often and was very helpful. All around, a great experience and a GREAT VALUE.

Beautiful course and friendly staff. It is one of my favorIte courses! I took a friend who has never golfed Pohlcat,,.she loved it! It was great to see a beverage cart person on the course...she did an excellent job of making the rounds...saw her 4 times!

Played on a Friday @3:30 and had the course to ourselves, oddly. Can normally offer a frustrating pace at times but a Ranger is almost always out and helpful. Course is in great shape, very fast greens!!

From the very beginning of the season, the course has been in perfect condition! I will be playing here all summer long!🎉🎉⛳️

Course was in really good condition for mid April. Got a great $37 hot deal for me and my wife. Love the challenge of Pohlcat, usually a few holes are rough on me but can get it back on the back 9. Probably the most comfy golf cart seats and very accurate GPS. Staff was super friendly. Love that you can find an affordable deal throughout the summer when other championship courses are too costly. Thanks!

It was opening day and the course was perfect. Greens rolled great and tee boxes immaculate. Thanks Dan, Marissa and staff for making this a great place to be a member.

I played here a couple years ago with the wife and I liked it. It was a little too tough for her and it was very wet about the same time of year in October. They must’ve done something a little bit better because we have had a lot of rain lately and it wasn’t as bad as it was two years ago so he must’ve worked on the drainage from Vegas, and only brought my head was the aeration holes, young man in the clubhouse. I asked him if it was a small tines or the big holes and he didn’t know what I was talking about, but it was a big aeration holes, so you did not get a true role on the greens other than that fairways Teebox and everything was great, caught right at the time of the height of the foliage and I had a good time by myself and I scored a fantastic rate with all the points of my golf pass for $17.98 so it was worth the hour and a half drive each way I guess I won’t be coming back for a while. I do want to mention that I played with a 50 year old man named Jamie who plays in a league there and he was a super gentleman. We had a great time on the back name Jamie if you see this thanks again had a great time. Best of luck to you and we may be back, but there’s so many other courses around but if I could score a great deal like that I will drive that far for a day trip but that’s about far as I go, so yeah Boca is a nice Porsche . Seems like the rates are quite high up in Mount Pleasant Fox run his way. He played there three years ago for 50 bucks this time here which was all the money but I don’t know if they think they are up there but there’s no better than anything down here in the Grand Rapids area but anyway good time. Thank you.

Played here for the first time and the fall colours only added to the beauty of this course. Truly amazing.

The newly aerated greens proved to be a bit of a pain (and we did get a heads-up at the clubhouse), but the overall course was truly one of the nicest places I've ever played in Michigan.

We will undoubtedly be back in the summer season to play this one again.

This round was the fifth round I played at The Cat this year. I would purchase a membership at this course if it was closer to me. The course was in great condition (as usual). Staff (rangers, pro shop) were friendly. The range made multiple passes during my round to keep play moving (as beautiful fall day so a lot of golfers playing).

I’ve been a member at the Pohlcat the past 3 years. Very challenging course. Course conditions are excellent. Many great views from many holes front and back 9’s. The staff has gone out of their way to accommodate myself and my friends each and every time. Great pro shop merchandise! (ouch). And the grill always provides a good bite to eat when needed. I won’t be a member anywheres else. It’s the Pohlcat or bust! And it’s always nice to be able to chat with Masters runner-up Dan Pohl. He and the staff make you feel a part of the Pohlcat family. From my end it’s greatly appreciated. Thanks Pohlcat staff.

The course was in great shape. The carts are awesome.
