About
Pohlcat Golf Club in Mount Pleasant has a winding layout that crosses the Chippewa River multiple times. The course sprawls across a diverse landscape that includes mature woodlands, rolling grassy meadows, and natural wetlands. It's a challenging layout with water coming into play on 14 holes and 56 bunkers strategically placed along the tree-lined fairways and greens. The tricky slopes and undulations on the greens, which can range from subtle to dramatic, add another challenging element to the golf course. The unique design goes back and forth between wooded holes and open, links-style holes, offering plenty of variety throughout. In addition to the golf course, there is also a practice facility available that includes a spacious grass range, two putting greens, and a short game area for putting and bunker practice.

Worth the drive but not great.
Had heard a lot about this course so was excited to get the opportunity to play here over the summer. I thought pace of play was on the slow side. Was also disappointed in the number of unrepaired divots in the fairways. Interestingly, we saw no sign of where divots went. Just found deep gouges. Sad. Did enjoy the course layout.
Do you want a challenge?
Most difficult course played. Tight greens, difficult to read, and very hard ground. If you want a challenge this course is it.
Great layout with fast true greens
Great layout with some tight holes greens are great and just fast enough. Play was a little slow but they did have a ranger out on the course. The price was excellent for the great quality of the course.
Beautiful!
Wonderful course, but very tough the first time you play it. I lost plenty of balls, but also found others. When I play it a second time, I'll be able to judge yardage to the hazards a little better. Some of the men's tee boxes have markers showing distance to the water, but none on the ladies tees. Greens are quite fast, but fair and hold well.

Excellent service from staff. Great food. I was surprised at how poorly the front 9 fairway was maintained.
Great value
Course was in excellent condition and greens were FAST. Fair course with some tight holes and challenging greens all around. Not really a course for the novice golfer. Excellent value. This will likely become a regular on our groups annual 4 day golf weekend in Central Michigan.

If this place was in Petoskey or Traverse City you'd pay at least $100.00.

Booked through Golf NOw for reduced rate, regular rates are too high! Course was wet and caused me to hit my divots farther than the ball.

A great evening round of golf!
We played the Pohlcat right after a big outing. The course was pretty empty so the pace was outstanding. It had been set up extremely hard, with difficult pin locations....this made it fun for our group. Some might not have thought so. The greens were lightning quick and in great shape! It's a great course.
Hot Deal Bargain
11:00 hot deal. Saw no one for 9 holes and then course came to a dead stop. We quit after 16 because we tired of waiting.
However, course was in very good condition with fast greens. No complaints of course conditions at all.
Pohlcat - July 2014
Very nice course - the greens held approach shots and rolled true and fast. The only complaint and it's minor is that some tee boxes were not very flat - why do so many course's not pay attention to this? Also - if you hit in the rough, you probably lost a ball - very thick rough. Several visible course marshalls keeping play moving.

Tough course in great condition
My buddy and I golf Pohlcat July 10 for 8: 20 am tee time. We owned the place, so the pace was outstanding. We couldn't believe how well the fairway and rough was kept, making finding your ball very easy. The greens were all cut early to remove the dew. Cutters were vey courteous shutting down equipment and clearing out so they were not distracting. Stopped in for a drink and hot dog after round. Appreciate your score being 1st beer price. Cart girl and club house staff very pleasant and professional. 3 hour drive to Pohlcat but a define replay when we are in the area.
What a gem of a course
This is a terrific golf course. We drove an hour to play the Pohlcat and I'd do it again today! Fantastic in every way, great condition, superb greens, we saw a couple deer, one with a fawn. Just wonderful
It's not too hard and it's not too easy, just right.

The Cat Saved the Day!
A large group were to play in Saginaw with a tee at 9am- rain rain rain - we waited for over 1 hour - then I said the storm is away from Mt.Pleasant, MI , lets play the Cat. As we drove the rain stopped and the sky was blue and the temp was 72 with a slight wind.
