PohlCat Golf Course

Well worth a visit. Interesting and challenging course

My buddy and I golf Pohlcat July 10 for 8: 20 am tee time. We owned the place, so the pace was outstanding. We couldn't believe how well the fairway and rough was kept, making finding your ball very easy. The greens were all cut early to remove the dew. Cutters were vey courteous shutting down equipment and clearing out so they were not distracting. Stopped in for a drink and hot dog after round. Appreciate your score being 1st beer price. Cart girl and club house staff very pleasant and professional. 3 hour drive to Pohlcat but a define replay when we are in the area.

This is a terrific golf course. We drove an hour to play the Pohlcat and I'd do it again today! Fantastic in every way, great condition, superb greens, we saw a couple deer, one with a fawn. Just wonderful

It's not too hard and it's not too easy, just right.

No one in front or behind us to slow us down or rush us

A large group were to play in Saginaw with a tee at 9am- rain rain rain - we waited for over 1 hour - then I said the storm is away from Mt.Pleasant, MI , lets play the Cat. As we drove the rain stopped and the sky was blue and the temp was 72 with a slight wind.
Called the course and booked a tee time via Golf Now.com.
What a great day of golf?

Guy couldn't locate my tee time on their tee sheet@ check-in. Said computers were down.The Girl behind the counter looked it up on her smart phone. A guy came out of the backroom and said they overbooked it, and I shouldn't of got the tee-time, but I didnt see anybody behind me the whole time on the course. Nice Fairways and challenging to hit.
All in all was a good course and less than 4hr. Round. (Bit of advice to staff, maybe print the tee sheet the night before).

We played as a 2some and they let us go off early in an open tee time to avoid being behind 2 4somes. Rangers actually did their job and kept track of play with us going thru a 3 some so they could play without anyone pushing them from behind even though there was a 4 some a couple of holes ahead. Gread communication from starter and rangers that made it a great experience in spite of the course being fairly full. Mostly the rangers at most courses are only interestedin looking for golf balls for themselves. They didn't push others but did keep track of play which makes for a more enjoyable round for all.

I had a great expedience with all the staff that I had to deal with, they were real professional friendly and polite .The course was in great shape. my only gripe is some of the tee boxes were little rough. I will play here every time I am in the area.

Great course condition with friendly staff. Got there at 6:40 for 7 am tee time. Strange that 'bagger' did not offer to take my clubs at bag drop area even though no one was there and he had nothing to do. also after golfing I hit at their range to 'fix' a couple of things. Strange that the range, although very nice hitting area, had no distances for their flags. Weird for such a nice course and facility. I'll be back though.

really nice course overall. got a great deal on the golfnow site ($25) Fairly tight on a number of holes, which added a pleasant challenge, was not overtly penal. only one complaint on the layout was with the forward tees on hole 17 (which otherwise is a spectacular hole, hanging above the river). a straight line from the teebox to the pin took you through a tree. my wife hit a great shot directly at the pin and had it deflected by branches. only blemish on an otherwise impressive course.
