Pohlcat Golf Club in Mount Pleasant has a winding layout that crosses the Chippewa River multiple times. The course sprawls across a diverse landscape that includes mature woodlands, rolling grassy meadows, and natural wetlands. It's a challenging layout with water coming into play on 14 holes and 56 bunkers strategically placed along the tree-lined fairways and greens. The tricky slopes and undulations on the greens, which can range from subtle to dramatic, add another challenging element to the golf course. The unique design goes back and forth between wooded holes and open, links-style holes, offering plenty of variety throughout. In addition to the golf course, there is also a practice facility available that includes a spacious grass range, two putting greens, and a short game area for putting and bunker practice.

Aeration was the worst I have ever seen. No heads up when making the reservation. Beautiful course but heads-up would have been appreciated.

Excellent Greens
This course was a little wet from all the heavy rain over the last few weeks, but greens were excellent. This is the most challenging course in Central Michigan so bring your “A” game!

One of the better golf courses in Mt Pleasant area.
This course is great, played it a few times before, greens are nice but when I putting for birdie and get bogey little mad. But had a fun time. On one hole a deer walked right up to us. If you like nature and beauty you will have a great time.

Not Top 100
I made a Fall road trip to Michigan the end of Sept. and added The Pohlcat to list of courses to play. I rad that this course was in the top 100 in the country and top 5 in Michigan, not the case. The fairways were not cut and the conditions were marginal at best. The tee boxes were uneven, sparse and uncut.
Nice to say I played it but once was enough.

Always Nice to Play
Day started a little cool but warmed up quickly. Course was in excellent shape. Pace of play was OK on the front nine but a back up occurred on the back nine. Ranger indicated a group fell 2 holes behind. So what should have taken 4 hours took almost 5. Frustrating when some groups just need a kick in the pants to get moving.

Vacationing
Got a great Golf Now hot deal for Pohlcat after seeing good reviews. Tee off was on time and pace of play was pretty good. Course was in good condition except it had taken alot of rain and had standing water which they couldn't do much about. It was still a really enjoyable round. Fairways are wide and good opportunities for par are out there. Bloody Mary's from cart girl were quite tasty and we ordered a sandwich on hole 9 and it was delivered to us a few holes later. Fun to play! Would highly recommend.

Slow play ruins day
It's a nice layout, some beautiful holes (a few quirky ones), in good shape although I was surprised at the slower speed of the greens. But it's hard to judge anything when the round takes 5 hours and you are waiting on every single shot. We should have known we were in trouble when the group in front of us was still on the first tee at our tee time. How does this happen at a course with tee times 10 minutes apart? No starter in sight. Rangers came by us a couple times ... and drove right on past us. Didn't even stop to ask us how it was going. Don't know if this pace of play was a problem that day or this is normal for that course, but our impression is that this course is not well managed.

Awesome day to stalk the cat
Great day at the pohl cat! Hot day and unfortunately they had a call in causing them not to have a beverage cart. However the ranger went around and made sure the golfers knew to call the club house and they would bring out anything we may need. Great teamwork to keep people happy! It’s not easy on any business in the staffing department right now!

Poor scheduling
Played this course dozens of times this summer alone. Smooth play until hole 7. There was a twosome in front of us. A group of 4 were sent out to the back 9. my playing partner almost hit them on his drive as they were coming through a path in the woods. They then played number 9 instead of going directly to 10. The twosome in front of us were then held up. We grouped up to keep our pace. The foursome said that they had a “back nine tee time” and apparently were in a “league”. What a joke at a course that has no turn. Backed up the entire round after this.

Slow as molasses
Played here for the 5th time, it took over 5 hours to play 18. Ordered food at the 10th hole, and the cart girl brought it out to us by the next hole. That was great because we still had 3 hours till we finished. Other than the extreme long wait time, the course was in great shape, per usual. Great place, but clear your schedule for the day.

Was beyond excited to play for the second time.
I hate to leave a bad review, but with marshals and staff at the clubhouse being unjustly rude while being a paying respectful patron on the course. Unfortunately this is the end of the continued journey I was going to play on this course, if you cannot respect the people funding your establishment I don't believe you deserve the continued respect of playing at your establishment.
