Cart Path Only in Winter Months - No One Monitoring This
When you walk into the clubhouse, there is a sign that all Whittaker Golf Courses are cart path only from November 1 - March 15. Which is fine and many courses are moving to this. However, there is no course ranger to monitor this. The group in front was driving in the fairway as they pleased. I saw others doing the same thing.
The condition of the golf course was in good shape for early March. It is one of my favorite golf courses in the area. Fun, playable and a fair price.
In summary, if your policy is to have all players keep their carts on the cart path - then someone needs to ensure this is going on.
great course challenging and fun!
Great course good condition very friendly staff! Love the in the cart GPS makes it very nice for yardage wherever your at throughout the course. Play often and will continue to play as much as possible.
Just to clarify, the GCOW does not have in cart GPS.
Thank You,
GCOW
Thank you for the five stars. The course has been in great shape and worth every penny.

Great value
Course was in great shape for December. Had a great time playing with Wayne. Will definitely be back
Just A Fun Course To Play
Always like playing at the Golf Club of Wentzville. A fun course to play that has a nice variety of holes. A $30 greens fee during the week, in the off-season is nice.
They are always trying to make the course look nice. A conscientious effort today to rid the course of leaves. Leaf blowers and mowers to eliminate most of the leaves. Placing new sod by several tee boxes.
Hole 9 is the most difficult hole on the course. They made it more playable by removing several trees on the right side now.
The only issues i saw were some bare, low spots in some of the fairways. Hole 1 green is revovering from an oil leak from a mower. Greens on holes 2 & 3, had some minor tire tracks on them.
No refund for rain
This golf course will not give money back if it rains. Never had a course rob me of money like this before. This has to be the worst course in the St. Louis area.
Recently Aerated Greens, Greens Fees Too High
Overall, this is one of my favorire courses in St. Louis metro area. A good mixture of easy, moderate and hard holes. Fun to play and usually in decent shape.
The greens were recently aerated and they do have some fairway drainage issues on a few holes (3, 4, 5). The top half of the 1st green has damage to it from oil leaking from a mower.
I thought the price of $62.50 was too high, considering it is late October and the greens were recently aerated. You can play the best course in the St. Louis metro area (Annbriar) for $70 - to show a comparision.
Good Course
Overall, the course was in very good shape. Greens were in great shape. Pace of play was an issue as it backed up on the front 9 and the overall round took 4.5 hours. Enjoyed the course.
Belligerent staff member
I have played this course weekly for 8 years. Today i went in and a staff member i have never seen told me that i have to pay more than double to play. I questioned him and he said pay or don’t play. I agreed to the extra fee and said i would just talk to management later. He then started yelling st me that he was management and then he yelled get out. I calmly said “really” and he yelled leave or he will call the police to remove me. Before i could get any other words out he just kept shouting “LEAVE”. I left and will never go back to that course.
Fun Day of Golf
Nice course with friendly staff. Course was in Great condition. They had a cart person on a Thursday which was nice. Pace of play was good even though it was crowded. I will be back, it was an enjoyable afternoon.
A Great Place to Play
The Golf Club of Wentzville is one of my favorite courses in the area, which is priced correctly. A fun, great design that makes your round enjoyable. Overall, the course was in great shape considering the wetness and the tough stretch of hot weather the week before. The greens had zero blemishes on them.
The course has some fairway drainage issues on the flat section on the front nine. The 5th tee was in rough shape. You can tell some of the edges on the course are a little brown from the heat the previous week. To their credit, they have already started planting grass in these areas.
We do have a course advisor cart that our staff uses to monitor the course. We get out on the course often and may not always be in the course advisor cart. Additionally, we are staffed less in the fall/winter months but we do get out on the course.
Thank you for your in put,
GCOW
