Great layout and challenging from the back two sets of tees. The bunkers were nothing but dirt (and ROCKS). No sand. Greens were good, but the hackers who play here can't figure out how to fix a pitch mark. As usual, the pace of play became slow once I caught up with the groups in front of me. Some of the holes are easy, but there are some very good golf holes on this course. They need to raise the price to keep the hackers away, put some sand in the bunkers, keep the greens cut fast, and this would be a solid course.

Everyone and course was great.

But on a hot and humid day you expect water to be on the course the last couple of times playing there the coolers on course have been empty or warm water in them. I suggest bringing your own cold water because you might not find it on the course.

Most of the tee boxes were in so,so shape. The sand traps looked like a rock quarry.They need to be raked & the big chunks of rocks removed.

With Kirk Porter's assistance, I put together an outing for 8 people - "The Longest Day of Golf". We were pleasantly surprised to learn about and take advantage of the great weekday rate, Wednesday Special of lunch and practice balls, and a replay cost that is far less than other local courses. The event covered 36 holes (morning and afternoon) and the staff made us all feel like "members" for a day! It was hot, but that is St. Louis in the summer... There was plenty of water on the course and refreshments afterwards. I am going to make this an annual event at Bear Creek and would advise others to do the same.

Greens and tee boxes in excellent conditions. Friendly staff and beverage cart seemed to always be available at the right time. It was a hot day. Starter at first tee and saw the marshall/ranger on the front side and back side of the round. Very SLOW play but the marshall did nothing to move play along. 6 hour + round of golf. Unacceptable.

A few issues with the cart paths otherwise no complaints

The course was in pretty good shape for the lack of spring (cool to cold weather until just recently). The greens had been aerated about 3 weeks ago and there was still some bumpiness. The greens were a little slow - probably due to the poor weather, but rolled well. I had a little bit of a challenge reading the greens! Fairways were dry as it has not rained for over a week. The tee boxes could be mowed a little tighter. All-in-all, had a very pleasant time and the course was fair when I did my part - which was only occasionally.

Although it’s been a few years since playing here, the course is still beautiful and challenging. The staff was nice and the pace of play was timely. I will definitely be back.

Will play this course again. Greens design is very cool. The tee boxes need some work. The greens were aerated but that's a good thing. Staff very friendly and liked the layout of the holes.

This is the closest thing I have to a "home course". I've been playing there fairly regular for 4 years. the fairways and tee boxes are in good condition. The greens however are slacking and have been for a few years. They are very choppy and it seems there are always sandy patches and the aeration holes never smooth out completely. That being said, it usually is a decent value for the money during the week. Other than the greens, my biggest complaint is the pace of play. I have a 4.5 handicap and still struggle to finish a round under 5 hours there. Overall, if its under 25$ its an okay deal. I don't like to pay more than that here though.

I wished when I booked a tee time at 3:04pm for 18 holes with four golfers. That they had leagues starting at 5:00pm

and we could only play nine. Instead they took our money and when we we made the turn to tee off on hole 10 the said that they had a woman’s league starting at 5:00 and we had to go to hole 14 to continue playing. But when we got to hole 14 a high school team was playing very slow The course needs to honest w/it’s customers up front. It appears that the superintendent was more worried about money then the quality of play not happy.
