Copper hills is a great course with up north feel
One of my favorite local courses. Beautiful up north feel with rolling hills, and numerous elevation changes. Challenging course with a number of forced carries.
Good course for the money
Played on a Sunday with a hotdeal tee time. The course was in decent shape. The tee boxes could use some work. Most of the greens were nice except for the fact that no one repairs their ball marks even though there are signs every 100 yards reminding you. Pretty course, challenging with some forced carries and narrow fairways.
Too bad !!
Waited to play this course all year, what a disappointment, from poor fairways to unkept sand traps and looked like they had a spring break party the night before with beer cans littered at the tee boxes.l would recomend going up the road to Boulder Point.
Poor condition on greens and fairways
This course has an amazing layout and design. But the conditions are less than ideal. The greens were in rough shape and the fairways were terrible. Bummer
Tarnished Copper
I have to agree with one of the previous reviewers regarding the Golf Digest ratings from years ago. I wished I had played it 10-12 years ago, as it's obvious this course has seen better days. Truly a shame because there are some phenomenal hole layouts and scenic views all over the course. Greens were in good condition but out of all the fairways were mostly a combination of clover, crabgrass and hardpan making every fairway shot a tight lie. I was actually glad to be in the rough a few times, much easier to get under the ball and generate some spin. From the unmaintained tee boxes to the tattered and faded flags, there is almost an eerie feeling as you play the course, especially on the Marsh. I probably won't play again but I do recommend playing once - some of the views and hole layouts are worth the price of a Golf Now admission.
Find the fairway
Demanding tee game. Must find fairway to score, and to find ball! Good greens and beautiful setting
hard course!!
Too hard. Average golfers going to have to avoid. Club house is really bad and feels like ghost town
Best lay out
Needs a little tee box help fairways so so. Greens were perfect and fast
Challenging
I'm a rather novice golfer and found this course to be pretty challenging. Make sure you have plenty of sleeves if you have difficult controlling your shots. A lot of the holes require some thoughtful club choice. Beautiful course though. Lots of wildlife. Fairways are nice. Greens are kind of fast. Bunkers are in good condition. Tee boxes are flat and maintained.
One of this areas best courses by far!
Up north feel just 15 minutes north of downtown Rochester. Course knows how to manage pace with three beautiful 9 hole tracks. Can't wait to go back.
Copper Hills
Great layout and friendly staff. Could use a little bit of extra care around the tee boxes, signage and paths but overall great value and and great find.
Copperhills golf course
This course is a hidden gem. No other golf course like it around Michigan. Every fairway is undulating and every hole is picturesque. Felt like I was on a pga course on every hole. Great challenge. All greens are slopey and challenging. No easy shots. Bring your A game. Super course and great staff.
Played the hills and marsh courses.
My favorite course around
It's a beautiful, intimate course that's groomed to perfection. Very difficulty course which is fine when the pace of play is smooth like always. If it was closer, it would put all the courses in my immediate area out of business. It's difficult to find a real good price there but if you're patient enough, they become available every once in a while. Everyone needs to try this course at least once in my opinion.
great course - very freindly staff
we had a awesome time - green were fast and fair
the ruff was long which made finding your ball hard sometime - I was not in the awesome fairways much
talk to the owner and said they will b building a new club this year
JUST AWESOME!
Very interesting course layout
The course layout was very interesting. The course was in good shape but lacked some things you would expect for the rates charged. ($45). The carts should have been retired years ago, no water to drink on the course, no GPS on the carts. The course needs a real clubhouse.
Ok course
Hills was tight and difficult. Beautiful views and conditions
Hills is more playable and enjoyable
Clubhouse is a dump
Best Course i"ve played in a long time.
This is one of the best Golf Courses I've played in a long time.
I play on a travel league that travels from Flint to Brighton to Ann Harbor and up to Port Huron. You don't find to many great golf courses like this. I have played this course before and it has always been in great shape.
Loved this course
I played the Hill and Marsh which by the course rating/slope was the most difficult combo. I found it challenging but not completely overwhelming. Marsh has at least 2-3 holes that force you to lay up off the tee due to dog legs or water in the middle.
Bring your A game
One of the most scenic courses I have played since being here. Very little margin for error and make sure you can hit it long.
Very nice scenery
The course was a little challenging and the scenery was very nice.
