Mulberry
Played this course for years. Love it. Just the right amount of challenge. Greens in great shape.
Slow slow slow
45 minutes to get a golf cart they had none available this was a first for me.
The game play was so slow it took almost 3 hrs to play 9 holes so I didn't play the back instead played the front a 2nd time.
I won't be going back
Underrated course
Really enjoy playing mulberry, great course to just get out on, especially once everything's in full bloom around the club house.
Mulberry Hills - Straightforward
I would describe Mulberry Hills as an average course with a couple of really nice holes. Hole 4 is a really nice par 3 over a pond. Overall the greens don't have a lot break with the exception of a couple of them that are severely sloped. There are a couple of holes where the green isn't visible from the fiarway. Wouldn't hurt to take a look if you are riding and have the time.
Great carouse to take your wife/gurlfriend
Short nice layout. Good course for women who are beginners. Kind of hidden away so not very crowded.
domed greens
i booked a hot deal with golf now for $11, so even though conditions were not ideal due to the 25mph winds, i thought why not.
First, the course is located on an unpaved road, so you will need a car wash after visiting.
Second, the front 9 is pretty run of the mill course, wide open with plenty of room for any wayward shots.
Third, back 9 is also pretty run of the mill apart from the greens are so domed that no approach shots will hold on the green, this becomes extremely frustrating as good shots are not rewarded.
Forth, i would not play here again.
Good for money
I was the first player the day. I enjoyed the round. The course was well maintained except the green was a kind of too fast.
Average
Many greens way too oval shape for your ball to stay on even on good shots, good for walking to get your exercise, not the greatest design.
A beautiful challenge!
This really is a very nice course. The greens roll real nice and are the challenge. This course is well maintained. Really enjoyed playing and for sure will be back soon.
Good overall
The greens could have been cleaned up better but overall the course was in good shape and I liked that they moved back the tees to make it a bit more challenging.
Mulberry
Love the course great for beginners and skilled golfers.
Good for the price
If your looking just to get out and golf for cheap this course is perfect for you. The front 9 holes are a lot of fun and fairly forgiving. However the back 9 holes are terrible. Super tight fairways and the dumbest greens I have ever seen. There is not a green on the back 9 that is even close to being flat. They are all small greens super sloped and most are elevated up so if your not dead on your ball is rolling off the other side. To put it in terms of course difficulty I shot a 36 on the front 9 and then a 50 on the back.
I probably will never go back and play this course but for $22 on a Thursday afternoon it was the only option near Oakland County.
Great course of the beaten path
Great course with plenty of challenges along the way. Staff is very friendly & accommodating. All around, great experience. Highly recommended.
Doesn't care about golfers
This place has the potential to be a great golf course, however it will need to be sold to people who care. I generally can let a lot of things slide, but as a small business owner myself, I am constantly putting my heart and soul into my company to make sure it is living up to its potential. This place has so many little things that could be improved.
Let's start with the parking lot...its weird. At first I couldn't even tell if I was in the right place, there is no signage for bag drop or anything and its kind of a hike to get to the clubhouse. Fine for me, but may pose an issue for any elderly or disabled golfers. No big deal, but worth mentioning. Could easily be fixed by just simply having a bag drop at the edge of the lot like every other golf course everywhere.
Second complaint: The tee box markers (you know, the little black, blue, white, red markers to tell you where to hit from) only have one of each per hole. COME ON!!! I could go buy some wood, chop it up, paint it, and solve this problem in A SINGLE DAY. How can you have a golf course where there are no legal (according to the rules of golf) tee boxes!!!? So stupid and could be so inexpensively fixed.
Third complaint: I played with my wife and young son. We were looking to grab some lunch (11 am) after our round so we hiked back to the car, changed shoes, dropped off clubs, and walked back up to "Hank's " bar and grill" at the clubhouse. I asked the bartender for some menus and her response floored me: "our kitchen is closed on the weekends"
What?
I said "do you know when people golf?" and her dumb response was "well, it's just a small family owned course and they don't want to open the kitchen on the weekends"
What a bunch of lazy idiots. If this was my business, I'd be there from sun up to sun down doing everything possible to make sure my customers have a great experience. If you are going to have a restaurant...wouldn't it make MORE sense to open WHEN THERE ARE THE MOST NUMBER OF PEOPLE AROUND??? Makes no sense!!!!
Third complaint: On number 9, they had the tee box marker all the way at the front of the tee box...but there were 4 foot tall weeds at the end of the tee box making the only viable shot a wedge (on a 450+ yard par 4). Even from the back edge of the tee box (where I moved the tee box marker to out of courtesy) it was sketchy to be able to clear the weeds with a driver. Why??? 2 minutes and a machete would solve this problem.
Bottom line: This place doesn't care about golfers and looks like there are no actual golfers involved in any of the decision-making. The layout is actually quite fun and the conditions are fine. The greens rolled true and fairways were lush. Sure, it was a bit rough around the edges...but could easily be cleaned up with a little work.
They need to sell this place to someone who really cares and can take care of it. It needs SO LITTLE to be a decent place. I have trouble reconciling why nobody is addressing the problems I mentioned as I'm sure they would be noticeable to any golfer.
Mulberry
The course is great but the staff is rude to the extreme from the pro shop to the rangers. Cart ladies were nice.
tricky course
Went pretty early in the morning and the greens were incredibly fast. Very tricky course but very well maintained. I really enjoyed playing here
Awful greens
It was like putting on top of a fish bowl! The grees are to high and the ball rolls off to much. the back 9 greens are the pitts!!!
