Greens are domed
Everything about this course is great except the greens are shaped like an upside down soup bowl. While I understand the challenge I do not like when they cut the holes on the side of a significant slope. I know, boo hoo right?
Pretty good but not great
Everything was just that 'pretty good'. I drove about forty minutes and passed by other courses that I like to play more, for about the same price. With that said it was just that 'pretty good'.
Pretty country golf
The course is in good shape. I has nice wide fairways for the beginner/intermediate golfer. The club house gardens are beautiful.
Good value but impossible greens.
Challenging course due to greens and long par 4s. They have crowned the greens to the point of if you don't flop right on the pin you'll run right back down the other side of the green. Not uncommon to 3 putt many of the holes. We did get it at a great deal so we were still quite pleased with the course for the money. I would play again.
Great Value
Mulberry Hills is a great value. The course is always in good shape. From the Back tees it is a very challenging 6700 yards. The only thing i can say negative is there are one or two greens that are too sloped, which requires very good positioning on your approach shots. Also there is no sand.
Tough greens
The course was what you would expect for the money you pay. Fairways were mostly playable and most of the greens were in good shape. My only complaint were the greens on the back nine had some ridiculous pin placements. The greens are all inverted bowls and the ball often rolls off with the slightest miscalculation. Not fun.
Fair Course for the Money
I have played this course many times over the years. Given all the rain and harsh winter we had the course was wet and not cut very well. Course is somewhat challenging for an amateur hack like myself. The fairways are easy to navigate but the greens are ridiculously difficult, shaped like upside down tea cups. It is better to be below the hole on many greens. That staff is always very friendly and food/drink prices are set at an affordable, non-inflated, price for most.
Course was closed
Spoke with them earlier (open) - my son went up there and they were closed. must have lost power and could not contact anyone? He wasted his $$ on gas...o well
Great Value
Found the round online that morning and they did a great job of keeping their word with the price. It is a wide open course that allows you to open up your swing. Very friendly staff, and even after the heavy rain the night before, they still had the course in good shape. Fun course.
Not Bad
This course is an old cow farm. It can be annoying when you hit a tee shot but never find it due to the tee shot being blind and the overgrown fescue. The domed greens can also be irritating especially when its windy. Nothing bad to say about the staff as they are very nice and they market themselves very well considering their location, I personally am just not a fan of the course.
Customer relations are awful!
Booked the tee time because it was great price on a GolfNow hot deal. Course was in decent shape, although the greens here are terrible--in good condition but most all of them shaped like bowls. The great price offset this.
However, while on the course, the snack cart lady's credit card machine was not working properly, so rather than being accommodating and letting us settle at the front desk after our round, she wanted to take our credit card with her for us to pick up later! And all to take care of a $3.50 charge! No way I'm giving my credit card to someone and letting them drive off with it. She grudgingly allowed us to settle at the clubhouse, but made sure to note that she would be looking for our cart.
When we finished the round, they had the maintenance man there to remind us to see the front desk. A bit over-the-top for $3.50. We settled up at the same place we had bought hot dogs at the turn. In the mean time, the lady at the front desk (one of the owners), caught us coming through and wanted to see a receipt. We hadn't gotten one, and she wasn't going to let us leave without seeing one, and chided us for paying at the restaurant, rather than at the front desk. I walked back to restaurant to get a receipt, and the other owner was there and said not to worry about it, that she would let the front desk lady know that we had paid. Again, all this hassle for $3.50!
There isn't a deal good enough to make me want to return to this course.
not a fan of the extreme crown greens
just not a fan of this course . some holes were cool but just not for me
Course overall decent, but most pins located at green edges.
Nearly all pins were located at edges of greens, in one case just 4-5 feet (lack of variety). Also, don't care for excessive crowning of greens (lack of variety). Course decent, but too many holes lack interest.
Great value
Good condition.. some length and challenges especially on the back. Will definitely return.
Tee boxes need work. Greens domed and impossible to hold.
No bunkers on the course. Domed greens on the back nine are tough but pin placement was unfair and impossible. Tee boxes definitely need work. Flower gardens fabulous!
Hard to Find but worth the effort!
The course is challenging but well maintained and worth the effort to get there.
great condition
Course was in great condition...greens were smooth as glass and fairways cut and weed-free. Even though there are no sand bunkers on the course still plenty of challenges with crowned greens which make approach shots and chips a challenge.
Great course in great shape
The course was in great shape even with all the rain we have had. I played by myself and was the first one off and got done in about 2 hours. No sand but lots of native grass and water to add some challenges. Only negative, had an 8am tee time and they advertise a free bucket of balls but parking lot and course didn't open until 7:50. At that point just grabbed a cart and went. Don't expect to show up before 8 and get some work in.
Nice course and great value for green fees.
A hidden little jewel...Mulberry Hills in Oxford, Michigan offers a very good golf experience for those looking for a course which will test the status of your game. Course management will lead to birdie opportunities on several holes, but only if you can putt well. Should you miss on your approach shot, your short games skills WILL be tested with many mounded and fast greens. GIR is a high priority if you plan to score here. Tree lined fairways demand a straight shot off the tee on most holes or par will be sacrificed.
A tough but fair challenge awaits...Enjoy!
Lovely course 2nd half is challenge
Lovely course 2nd half is challenge
